'The Vampire Diaries' Creator Says Hit Horror Series Was "Very Personal"
Image
Kevin Williamson, the writer behind horror icons like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, is one of the masterminds behind the creation of the CW's teen horror seriesThe Vampire Diaries. Although he was credited with co-creating the show, he was only involved with a handful of seasons. Not entirely convinced to make the show at first, Williamson eventually found something innovative and worth exploring in the story. And as he has recently stated, he also saw an opportunity to address something "very personal" that he was going through.

The series was based on L.J. Smith's young adult book series of the same name, and it ran for eight seasons from 2009 to 2017. While it wasn't critically acclaimed at first, the show gained popularity throughout the years, ultimately becoming a staple of the CW's teen-oriented shows. It was also the basis for the show The Originals, which worked...

It's a lot of new faces, but don't worry, we've got you covered.

Paul Wesley on How He and Ian Somerhalder’s Brother’s Bond Bourbon Isn’t a “Celebrity Bulls***, Cash Grab”
Image
When Covid-19 hit, Paul Wesley, like most of the world, found himself at home with nothing to do. So, he and his then-neighbor, The Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder, started working together to bring a new kind of bourbon to the market.

Wesley and Somerhalder portrayed beloved onscreen brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore, respectively, on the hit CW show, bringing their close relationship offscreen for Brother’s Bond Bourbon.

When creating their whiskey brand, one of the most important things to the co-stars-turned-business-partners was that their product was authentically theirs and not just theirs in name alone. Not...

How a Documentarian’s Unfinished Projects Led to His Masterpiece
Image
Fifteen years ago, writer/director Judd Apatow hired documentary filmmaker Chris Wilcha to film a behind-the-scenes movie about the making of “Funny People” and changed Wilcha’s life forever when the documentarian moved from New York to Los Angeles to work on the project. After he was done with the shoot, Wilcha had a hard time finding documentary work and ultimately settled into a life of directing commercials, returning to his first love of non-fiction filmmaking only sporadically as he accumulated hard drive after hard drive of footage from unfinished projects. Apatow was stunned to learn what an effect he had had on Wilcha’s life. “I didn’t even know that he moved to L.A. for the job,” Apatow told IndieWire, “and that his mom has been mad at me for decades.”

The unexpected connections between people and the unknown ways in which they affect each other are...

Share? Clip Has a ‘Cantankerous’ Bradley Whitford Ranting in Captivity
Image
Bradley Whitford delivers a powerful monologue in an exclusive clip from Share?, showcasing his impeccable acting chops. Melvin Gregg's detached performance adds an unusual dynamic to the aforementioned clip from Share?, contrasting with Whitford's intensity.
