The ick factor is strong in this one.
Stalking and emotional manipulation is never okay and never cute. The premise itself falls flat from the get-go. It's more appropriate for a creepy Hostel like thriller than a feel-good comedy.
Despite the clean-cut cutesy actors playing the parts, the behaviors still come off as that of a perverted, manipulative voyeur.
The dialogue feels like it is torn from the pages of a fan-fiction Reddit post, unrealistic and laced with casual misogyny, like some twelve-year-old boy's fantasy romance.
Disturbing and manipulative behaviors are portrayed as cute and romantic but fails the ick test at the most casual introspection. Did you really think that was cute? If so, check your compass, something's wrong with you, really.
I'd give this one a pass.
