Just a Lil' Kink with this Story

Love anything with Shin Se-Kyung in it. Second show where she seems to do a story where there is something different with the main character, last one was where she could see smells. But the production were a little cheap when doing makeup for aging characters, in last episode, one didn't know how much time had passed until the script mentioned it. The actress who played Sharon was in, "Crash Landing", and has exactly the same expressions throughout both shows, just a bit limiting her talents, I'm sure. Product placement was obvious with Subway, all the Maserati cars that were driven throughout the show had their badges blacked out, obviously Maserati didn't come to an agreement on the use of their cars, LOL.

Seo Ji Hye is beautiful here but the story isn't sufficient for 20 episodes

There are some good points about this series that just about make up for the bad points. The opening episodes in the former Yugoslavia are pretty. The story that happened hundreds of years ago is more interesting than the present day romance. Also the redevelopment issue is boring. The mystery about his father's death is too drawn out. Shin Se Keung looks better in the old fashioned costumes than present day. She doesn't have much chemistry with Kim Rae Won who looks too old for her. Kim Rae Won doesn't act very expressively. The supporting cast are better. Seo Ji Hye of Crash Landing on You is amazingly beautiful and stylish here as a witch. Every scene she is in features her in different outfits. She literally steals every scene she is in and if not for her I would have given up on the show. There simply isn't enough story for 20 episodes it gets repetitive and weak. The biggest flaw is the lack of chemistry between the two leads. Was rooting for Seo Ji Hye's character instead. The ending is so weak with zero emotion. Not a must watch.

    Romantic fantasy

The backstory is not that good. It couldve been finished with 16 episodes but it was made into 20 episodes. The ending is not typical but it does make sense. Kim RaeWon is very romantic, I like him alot whenever he delivers his romantic line. The love chemistry between the two leads is topnotch.

    Kim Rae-Won delivers!

At the 6th episode I wanted to stop as I am unsure if i like the leading actress in this drama. Nothing is for free, there is a price for everything! That she has no dignity. She is pretty good in 'The bride of Halbaek'.

I continue watching only because of the leading actor RWK he is so good in the 'Doctors' & he is also cool & debonair here too! He is truly good here. Now 2 dramas with him, he is definitely on my watch list!

Actually it is good though its a little fantasy with romance, betrayal thrown in as usual in kdrama, it has a love storyline.

But the ending is not as expected & it drags to a sad ending.

    Return of the Sharon

As with a lot of K dramas this began strongly but meandered in the end to become ho-hum or absurd. The idea of karma & your past life coming back to haunt you is not new, but it was an interesting idea to go between 2 time frames in this series. I enjoyed the initial setting of Slovenia.

The series could be renamed 'The Return of Sharon' as she just kept coming back. You would think that after 300 years in which to reflect she might take some responsibility for her previous actions! She was the worse ex-wife any man could have as she just kept coming back to interfere. Seo Ji-hye, as Sharon, was the standout in this series. I had seen her in Crash Landing on You & she has a presence on screen that is mesmerizing.

The ML & FL were okay until they got to be together & then it seemed a bit awkward. I had seen Kim Rae-won in The Doctors & the same thing happened there. At least in this K drama the girl he desired was a bit more age appropriate. But really, what couple in their 30s behave the way they did when alone in a house.

There were some characters I did not like. For one, the so-called aunty was cringe-worthy. The supposed good friend of the FL was so disloyal that she that could not disclose crucial secrets to her friend about her family. The Park Gon character, son of the villain, was wishy-washy for most of the time but then got rewarded at the end.

Kim Byeong-ok must get sick of playing the villain, but he does it so well. I don't know how he wasn't jailed earlier.

The ending as it wasn't the usual happily ever after which was nice for a change.
