    Wrost movie ever

Dnt waste your time n money in watching this movie. Wrost movie i ever watched. Lack of acting skill from kapil n story line is also horrible. He was promoting it for many years at least he should have choose a nice script.i guess he is only matching for comedy movie as he is only a comedian..

    Disappointed

Manga (Kapil Sharma) is an uneducated and jobless young man who dreams of joining the Police Force but fails at every attempt made to do so. During a visit to the village Naku Guda for his friend Heera's (Inaamulhaq) wedding, Manga comes across Sargi (Ishita Dutta) and falls in love with her, but because of being jobless Manga is unable to take forward his relationship with Sargi.

Manga was born with a unique ability that he could cure anyone's backache with a simple kick to their backside. One day he manages to cure Mark Daniel (Edward Sonnenblick) of his backache using the same ability of his. Impressed by this act of Manga, Mark offers him a job in the Police Force, which Manga happily accepts. Manga is now convinced that since he has a job now, Sargi's family won't object to his marriage with her and so he approaches Sargi's grandfather Lalaji (Aanjjan Srivastav) with regards to this. But Lalaji, who is a follower of Mahatma Gandhi refuses the proposal because Manga is working for the Britishers, the very same people from whom the people of the country are fighting to get their independence from.

The boring narrative, an incoherent screenplay and mismatch between milieu and discourse in certain scenes of the film make it an extremely mind-numbing affair.

Firangi is directed by Rajiv Dhingra, who has a couple of Punjabi films behind him. This is his first foray into Hindi-language cinema. Of course, language is no barrier for him. The raw material is. And so is the treatment. He just doesn't seem to be able to decide if his film is an out-and-out comedy, a satirical take on the impact of the Raj on common Indians, or a romance that blooms across an intractable ideological divide. Firangi might have been harmless fun if only it had stopped short of running so hopelessly amok.

The trouble with this mildly engaging film, with a solid supporting cast, is that it is far too long. Sharma is serviceable as a young Punjabi munda, making eyes at a blushing Sargi (Dutta). The setting, meant to be the 1920s, is all created on set, but you do initially manage to ignore the carefully crafted mud huts, because the language spoken is real, the gidda is homespun; as are the costumes. But it goes on and on. And on. Post interval, it slows down and begins to grate, even when the in-awe-of-the-'firangi'-hero comes to his own proud 'desi' roots.

One thing's clear. With his second outing in the movies, Kapil Sharma wants to desperately drive home a point that he has no interest in milking his comic talent in the movies. While it's a ballsy move for a successful comedian to explore other genres, the question is, are his fans ready for it and can he do it convincingly? Not really, when he wears one expression (lack of interest) on his face, throughout the film.

On the whole, due to its weak script and lack of comedy FIRANGI fails to leave a lasting impression. Besides this, the long run time of 161 mins will leave the audiences impatient and restless. At the box office, the film will face an uphill task of enticing the audiences, given the lack of buzz surrounding the film.

A film that did not deserve to made.

Firangi was made under the misconception, that an actor can sell any kind of story as long as he has a massive amount of fan following. Although, the theory is not completely incorrect, because actors like Akshay Kumar have turned ordinary scripts into successful films purely on the strength of their stardom. Kapil Sharma clearly miscalculated his star power, he may be successful but he is definitely not an Akshay Kumar.

Kapil Sharma needs to realize that even though he is a great comedian, that doesn't really make him a good actor as well. Kapil has touched millions of hearts through his comedy shows, and there is no other comedian as good as him on Indian Television right now. Kapil believes that only through movies can one become a superstar who will be remembered forever, which is not correct. Comedians and Talk Show Hosts like Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Fallon, and Ellen DeGeneres are extremely successful and popular worldwide. Not everyone needs to do the same thing, people need to stick to what they are best at.

Firangi is a very poorly made film with almost nothing in its screenplay. It's a story that did not deserve to be turned into a film. The acts that Kapil and his team perform on The Kapil Sharma Show are more enjoyable to watch than the film, and even those acts are not very well written, that's how boring 'Firangi' is. Kapil says that 'Firangi' is not a comedy film, it wasn't made with the intention of making people laugh, but the thing is people can watch movies of all genres but the content should engage them, you cannot throw substandard products at the audience and expect them to stand up and applaud for you.

Writing anything more would be pointless because 'Firangi' is a complete waste of time. The only good thing in the film are it's songs, but you don't need to watch the film to enjoy them.
