The evil MUST be down the street because there ain't nothin' happening here!
I kept waiting. And waiting. And waiting. And still nothing. I hate to say, but all these positive reviews must be fake.
Luckily, I didn't pay a dime to see this. The thing I'm out is the time I spent watching this.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna head elsewhere down the street to look for some good evil.
Good evil? Is that an oxymoron?

Good evil? Is that an oxymoron?
This film is just overall boring. And the acting is something you will see in a b movie. Or maybe less.
A junior grade school acting in a play, could do better.
What the reviews here calling this movie an "indie film" mean is that it is an ultra low-budget, super cheesy horror movie. The acting is bad, the plot is played out, and the sound design is noticeably atrocious. By far the worse part about it is the "scares and effects". They consist of people's voices changing, door shutting on their own, bad jump-scares, and cheesy makeup.
If you feel like being really bored for an hour and a half or you just can't fall asleep, I would recommend it. Everybody else should avoid this train-wreck like the plague. Any review rating this movie higher than a 2 is fake. It's not that this isn't my kind of movie, it's that this is obviously a very badly made film. PS: who doesn't like potatoes?

Talk about a train wreck of pure acting carnage. The horror wasn't the evil down the street it was the story line. No way this deserves a 1 star.
Plot
The Ryan Family moves into their dream home having no idea their new home is possessed by a demon. (inspired by true events).
Cast
Not familiar with anyone, and everyone was so incredibly bland.
Verdict
I watched The Evil Down the Street on Youtube, that's generally an immediate red flag but I do love being proved wrong. This, did not prove me wrong.
Now the first factor out the gate is that this is a "Based on a true story" movie, but is also supernatural which makes me chuckle. It's either/or it's not both, grow up.
I saw comments from the director, how he was waffling on about being respectful to the family, how he knew them, how he wanted to tell the true story. Well it's clearly not a true story is it? For crying out loud.
The film is a slow burn with uninteresting characters that touches upon commonly seen subject matter but drags it out for so long it never finds an identity or brings anything new to the table. It's no exaggeration to say nothing really happens in the film and the finale is so remarkably rushed I was sat jaw dropped in awe that's the way they decided to do it. No spoilers here, but imagine a 90 minute movie about an alien invasion where 89 minutes are them talking about the aliens and looking a the spacecrafts then 10 seconds is them shooting a missile at said spacecraft boom and it's over.
The Evil Down the Street is absurd, terrible and pointless.
Rants
I do so hate supernatural "True" stories. Is your life that lame that you need to believe in ghosts, goblins, vampires, demons, aliens, gods etc etc etc? Proof or gtfo please, you've had enough time by now and it's just getting embarrassing. Go out and record evidence, and unlike all the evidence out there on Youtube kindly record it on a camera not a potato.
The Good
Nothing springs to mind
The Bad
Bland cast Slow burns to nothing Simply not a true story Awful rushed finale.
