There is a Jean-luis Eisenini in us all!

I believe there is a Jean-luis Eisenini in us all. That creative voice that chooses to protect and preserve art instead of selling out for bit of cash. Money is finite, but art echoes into eternity, good art anyways. However, falling in love can sometimes shatter all we aspire for, in our art. The love for our 'significant other' in essence becomes this new art, although sometimes we don't know it. This is a great story that speaks to any artist who struggles with their art, who struggles with completing their work, and are often times trapped and crippled by it, and can't see the forest for the trees. It's also the story about growing up and facing the reality of adulthood, the cruelty and unfairness of this world, and the need to deal with it. Because, after all that's what grown-ups do.

    A charming Independent film!

Such a wonderful break from the mass, star studded Hollywood super-hero movies. Finally, a true independent art film with a lot of heart. A story we can all relate to for we've all been there, in some shape or fashion. A must see for anyone who truly loves independent cinema, and who truly loves cinema in general since it is a running commentary on the cinematic form throughout film history.

    Cinema

A must see for any aspiring filmmaker! It really spoke to what it means to be a struggling artist, stuck in your art, forced into having to decide between what is most important to you and what is best for you. The trials and tribulations of a filmmaker is even more challenging, when the filmmaker chooses only to shoot with film celluloid and edit with archaic machines that are one step away from destruction. Instead of the seemingly easy, more advanced limitless world of digital.

    Great story!

Great story. It spoke to many of the superstitions that I had as a kid, and many that I still have. The signs that surround us on a daily basis that are good or bad omens, and can have profound effects on our day or the rest of the year, for that matter. I love how the movie juxtaposes this superstitious world, the magical world of cinema with the kitchen-sink reality of the real world. I also love the notion that an artist sometimes has to go through deep suffering to finally attain clarity of their art... however, sometimes at the cost of a loved one. The film is fun, witty, artsy, romantic, sweet, and giddy. Yet, turns sad and tragically hopeless.. but then hopeful. I don't want to give anything away, no spoilers here! So, just watch it.. you'll be glad you did!

Cine Loteria is a breath of fresh air!

Cine Loteria is a breath of fresh air in American Latino filmmaking! It's time we see Latinos portrayed in a positive image and not the negative stereotypes often portrayed in film and television. Latinos are doctors, lawyers, politicians, and yes, filmmakers! Kudos to the filmmaker of this film, I'd love to see more of this type of movie!
