The goal is to have a better tattoo than 1 Angel...to get thrir you need to win against other artistd...The Angels decide what style of tattoo need to be done ..than judges the artists on that style until only 1 artist remains that will go head to head against a Angel...Today's challenge was American Traditionnal..1 artist did the tattoo in that style and the other artist did not..so you would think that the artist that respected and exacuted that style should win hansdow..but no...they gave the win to the other artist that did not do American Traditionnal...because the tattoo look better..why a challenge if youre not gona reinforce it..just tell the tattoo artist to do whatever they want..Total BS...its always like this when you try to create a sideshow of a big hit tattoo show..waste of my time and energy..no credit given..total joke..
This show is a little sexist from what I have seen so far. The past two tattooers for the past two shows they favor the women, even though the others tattoo better. This is too much in my opinion. Next time make a show and not be as sexist and I will watch it, but other than that improve your judging. It is as rigged as Ink Master and I just watch Ink master to see the amazing artists at work and see how they do under pressure.
So bad, I can't even think of a word to describe it. Started off to be promising, then it took a dive. Everything seems fake, fake judging, fake acting, fake winning, it's just horrible. I expected more by seeing who the hosts were, but they are better at being a tattoo artists than hosting this show, don't quit your day job!
0 if I could... This is so terrible, unfair. A person need to beat an Angel that have been on Ink Master that knows everything, how it is, what they are looking at etc. the "Angels" think they are superheros that knows everything + I looked at an episode now, the fighters tattoo was much MUCH better than the Angels, but who won? The Angel. Ex. they both are gonna do a big realism tattoo of a tree with leaves, big flowers, with faces (family) + kids playing. The fighter do it perfect, and the Angel just do a tree with faces (that looks like an 3 year old have done) but still, who win? the Angel ofc....
Take all the worst parts of recent Ink Master seasons and add in a metric ton of sexism and you've got the "Angels" series.
Ink Master has declined in recent years but rather than fix the issues the producers have just added MORE of the same problems. The biased judging (it should be blind), the fake drama, the scripted altercations, the sexist alliance, the inconsistent adherence to the judging criteria, the predetermined outcome (HAD to have a female winner, regardless of who deserved it more), Dave Navarro (I still can't believe someone thought viewers would enjoy seeing Dave hanging from hooks!), etc. etc etc.
Nunez comes across as a pompous ass. Dave Navarro isn't a tattoo artist (or even a visual artist) and is a terrible judge. Peck is the only reasonably decent judge.
The producers need to switch to blind judging, with a predefined criteria that is strictly adhered to. I'd even suggest a number scoring system where every tattoo is given number (1-10?) for the different aspects (i.e. application, design, line work, consistency, shading, color/grayscale, placement/fit to body, and 30 points for overall appearance) and then the winner is the person with the highest score and the lowest score goes home (regardless of past tattoos). Give the judges each 1 save per season to prevent someone's off day from sending them home (or just 1 save total?). The season finale tattoos would be scored the same way and would account for 50% with the report card counting for the other 50% of the determination of the season winner.
At no time should a non-artist have a part in judging. No Navarro votes, no public votes (which is just a popularity contest), etc. Artists should be the ones determining the winner based solely on the artwork contestants complete. If producers want to fix the judging, they should have 10 respected artists blindly judge all the completed tattoos. Utilize Navarro, Nunez, and Peck and mentors and hosts, but not as judges.
Anyway, back to Angels... Last season of Ink Master (with all the angels) was horrid. I didn't think it was possible but this show is actually even worse. Luckily, the first season of Angels will also be the last (there's zero chance this pile of stinking poo gets renewed).
