Netflix is expanding its library of live television with the YouTube talk show Hot Ones, hosted by Sean Evans. The long-running series features Evans interviewing the world's biggest celebrities, often Hollywood actors, as they eat chicken wings with increasingly hot sauces. Netflix wants to record a live version of the hit online series, according to a new report.
Variety reports that Netflix is in talks with Buzzfeed to produce live show episodes of Hot Ones, with Sean Evans returning to host. A Family Affair explores family dynamics better than The Idea of You. A Family Affair's "meet cute" is more believable than The Idea of You. The Idea of You ranks higher due to better critical reception, performances, and script.
Netflixs rom-com A Family Affair has a similar premise to Prime Videos The Idea of You, but it did one thing better than Anne Hathaways successful rom-com. The genre of rom-com has been going through a resurgence with movies that have captivated the audience and, in some cases, have also won critics over. One that was a hit with critics and general audiences was The Idea of You, directed by Michael Showalter and based on the novel of the same name by Robinne Lee, with Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine as its main actors.

"A Family Affair" is a 2024 romantic comedy film on Netflix that features an all-star cast. The movie stars Zac Efron as Chris Cole, a famous movie star who begins dating his assistant's older mother, Brooke, played by Nicole Kidman. Other cast members include Joey King, Liza Koshy, Kathy Bates, and Shirley MacLaine.
The renaissance of the modern rom-com continues with Netflix's A Family Affair, which features an impressive cast of notable actors and actresses such as Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman. The 2024 romantic comedy film, directed by Richard Lagravenese and written by Carrie Solomon, chronicles the story of a young woman (Joey King) whose mother (Kidman) enters a relationship with her boss (Efron), much to her dismay. Unfortunately, as teased in the trailer for A Family Affair, King's character learns of the scandalous (which is only so due to the couple's age gap) affair when she walks in on them about to have sex.

In the initial draft of The Empire Strikes Back, Han Solo’s response to Leia’s “I love you” was an awkward “Just remember that, ’cause I’ll be back”. Upon filming the line, director Irvin Kershner realized there was something wrong with the Solo’s response, as it undermined the suspense about whether he’d survive the carbonate chamber or not.
This prompted them to test various alternatives but it was the “I Know“, suggested by Harrison Ford, which clicked with both Kershner and later the fans. However, George Lucas was initially against this change, and it wasn’t until a test screening that Lucas would eventually give in.

Silence speaks volumes in the latest film from Joachim Lafosse. The writer/director uses it as a dramatic tool throughout his film but it also refers to years of unspoken repression in the household run by Francois Scharr.
Daniel Auteuil - surely the Tom Hanks of Gallic cinema - plays against type as the well respected lawyer, who we meet in the middle of a high-profile case, with journalists permanently stationed outside the gates of the lavish home he lives in with wife Astrid (Emmanuelle Devos) and his teenage son Raphael (Matthieu Galoux). Lafosse's fictional tale draws on a real-life Belgian case that became known as the Hissel Affair, in which a high-powered lawyer acting on behalf of a family whose children were killed by a paedophile, himself became subject to scrutiny.
Beginning near the end, we see Astrid at a police station being given the news that Raphael has attempted to.

Published on Saturday, the interview is tied to Wilson’s stage project, The Second Woman at the Young Vic, and how the 24-hour performance consisting of a single scene repeated 100 times on a loop tests and challenges her as a performer.
At one point, the conversation turns to her departure from The Affair, something she once again declines to discuss “in any way, shape or form,” according to the outlet. “I don’t think there should be any NDAs,” she told the outlet when asked if there was a place for them. “If there’s a problem, there’s a problem. It needs to be dealt with, not put under...

The Affair star on #MeToo hypocrisy, the violence of cosmetic surgery, and why she steers clear of social media
Ruth Wilson hitches the skin by her ears to demonstrate how she’d look if she had “those little wires” sewn into her face, by which she means a thread lift. “Just that would make the world of difference,” she says. She is 41 and “everyone” around her talks about Botox “and what to fill their face with”. This is not in response to any question of mine. This is Ruth Wilson freewheeling on how confusing she finds the notion of “female empowerment” in 2023. “As an actress, everyone does it. Very few resist. I haven’t done anything – yet. But it’s in my head as like, ‘Well, do you decide not to and therefore potentially look older than your peers? Or do you just give in?’” Yesterday she read in the...

Exclusive: MGM’s extensive film & TV catalogue, built over the past century, was the main driver behind Amazon’s $8.5B acquisition of the storied Hollywood studio. For the past year, since the deal closed in March 2022, Amazon Studios has been sifting through MGM’s library, identifying about a dozen initial titles for film and/or TV development, including Robocop, Stargate, Legally Blonde, Fame, Barbershop, The Magnificent Seven, Pink Panther and The Thomas Crown Affair.
We hear A-list creative auspices have reached out to inquire about adapting MGM IP which they are fans of. Additionally, Amazon Studios also has been leaning on its own roster of talent for some projects.
Each title is being approached differently — some are being steered toward film, some toward TV and some big ones are getting both movie and TV treatment.
For instance, Amazon Studios is in active early conversation on Legally Blonde, both for a...

Black Thought and El Michels Affair have shared another new song, “Glorious Game,” featuring Kirby, the title track from their collaborative album, out April 14.
The track is anchored by stuttering drums and a bulbous bass line, with Kirby’s from-the-heavens falsetto on the psych-soul chorus providing the perfect counterbalance to the Black Thought’s crystalline flow. “Glorious Game” is accompanied by an engrossing animated visual (helmed by Gugen Allan) that follows a panther as it roams through an otherworldly dreamscape.

Helsinki-based The Yellow Affair has boarded international sales for Brothers, a Czech-German co-production directed by Tomas Masin and written by Marek Epstein.
The fast-paced drama is inspired by the true story of two brothers who, in 1953, tried to escape communist Czechoslovakia to join the US army in West Berlin. What ensued was one of the largest manhunts in modern history and the brothers are still hailed by some as heroes and others as murderers.

We're pretty much in everlasting love with this video. For anyone who knows Jamie Dornan primarily as the steely Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, the idea of him singing an upbeat melody might be a little hard to imagine. But that's the magic of acting, baby! And we've got proof of the actor's range in the form of video. The 39-year-old star, who hit the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of his latest movie, Belfast, on Nov. 8, took to the stage during the film's afterparty and—well, wowed the crowd. Jamie, who hails from the film's titular Northern Ireland city, sang a rendition of "Everlasting Love" by Love Affair,...

An epic love story will not be taking flight at ABC.
The network has officially scrapped its fairytale drama from Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis.
The cast of the potential series was set to be led by Brittany O’Grady (Little Voice), who played cynical princess Luna, and Eleanor Fanyinka (Holby City), who played a mysterious character known as The Seer.
Modern Family's Sarah Hyland was also set to appear in the project as a princess named Rose.
O'Grady was set to be the lead as Luna, with it being revealed that the character is changed by a broken heart.
She does not believe in love stories, but “she is about to find herself caught in the most epic one of all — her own.”
Epic was described as “a romantic anthology series set in the fairytale universe of Disney… taking place in a Disney-like Enchanted Forest.
