What a masterpiece. In all of its horrificness this movie was a darkly beautiful work of art. I felt like I was in the mind of Xavier being drawn in deeper and deeper. I really hope there will be a Part 2! Cannot get enough of Xavier and what an amazing actor Marc is! Cannot stop thinking about him. Need more!
I saw this Film at a Festival in Austria and still some images are hunting me. It is a low budget Movie about a Serialkiller in Prague but most of the time you don't even realise that the production didn't had a million Dollar Budget, it is filmed that good. The start is a little bit slow paced and I dind't like the beginning with the swat team but after the first 20 minutes we get to dive deeper and deeper into the mind of a Serialkiller which I havent seen in such a diabolic way in years. The Lead Actor portays this Character with a seemingly natural introverted side and then in killing mode switches to this dark killing force in such a believable way, which to me was often scary and blew my mind. I haven´t seen a Film before with any of the actors, so far no names to me but this Marc Engel is really the heart and soul of this dark film. The cinematography is excellent and Scars of Xavier has a moody fitting score. Some of the kills are pretty gory but somehow stylish, strange and new. The Story isn't new but what the director did with it somehow is. I'm not going to spoil anything but the ending is maybe one of the best MF endings I´ve seen in years. I can't wait until the Film comes out on DVD so I can watch it again. I highly recommend this thriller, portay of a Serialkiller "drama" whatever the Director wanted it to be? It is all of it and more and to any fan of Dexter or Hannibal a must see. Although Xavier felt more real than those Serialkiller takes .
"Scars Of Xavier" is the first full length feature film of the highly talented editor (most recently known for Marcel Walz's "Blood Feast") and director Kai E. Bogatzki. The expectations of his first feature film were extremely high for me. And Bogatzki did not disappoint me at all: he even exceeded my expectations.
"Scars Of Xavier" is an impressive, brutal, shocking and extremely credible psychogram of a serial killer that lingers on for a long time. With lead actor Marc Engel Kai E. Bogatzki has found a man with whom he could make his visions to reality. You can almost feel in every attitude, how intense (and both physically and mentally exhausting) the shooting were.
And in the end, when the audience thinks, the brutal and bloody path of Xavier and his victims find an end, Bogatzki opens another psychological door, that takes your breath away. Visually overwhelming, the killer's journey continues, transcending boundaries, and ultimately making everything you've seen conclusive. Bogatzki, the main actor and the whole film team shock, confuse and touch emotionally. "Scars Of Xavier" is a roller coaster ride into the psyche of a murderer, but also into the sick world of a childhood traumatized person who is basically deplorable.
Especially in times of computer-animated, soulless blockbusters, Bogatzki's "Scars Of Xavier" shows, what filmmaking really means: to realize visions not with a million-dollar budget, therefore with acting and innovative, emotional ideas. All these things come together in "Scars Of Xavier". In addition, there is a terrific camera work and a great score.

This has to be the crappiest of the crappiest crap movies I've ever have seen...or tried to see. After 15 min I couldn't stand it anymore...
I found it disturbing because it realistic set ups. I was not able to watch all. there is no comedy, only vicious kills and bloody.
basically a men who kills women plot.
actually describe why he is like that.
the lead does the job well.
above average in the genre.
