This is one of the best crime series I've watched. I have seen so many shows on ID, oxygen etc and this show has touched my heart so much. You rarely see shows that show you the effect the crime has on the different people it happened to and I think it's important to show the outcome of these crimes and not just the story of the crime itself. I hope ID will continue with this series. I will definitely continue to watch it if they do.
A very intense show. It's unique that it interviews three people in each episode - be it a friend/family member from the side of the murderer, friend/family member from the side of the victim, the DA, law enforcement, any person you can think of whose lives were effected essentially.
The only thing that ticks about this show is the intro. Its beginning states "in (Date day year) in (City state), 3 peoples lives were changed forever. These are thier stories." I wish they would have chosen thier words more wisely with this. The aftermath of a tragedy reaches further than just 3 people. I cant like those lines and reading them in this show bothers me immensely.

Extremely well made very sad watching people who have suffered so much . I gave 10 stars as this is well informed from all side of such horrific crimes.
This was great fun in that it was like time-warping back to the 70s, when my stepmother grossly miscolored her hair, wore hideous blue eyeshadow and was mired in denial about certain family members.
What was not fun is watching re-hashing of covered crime. Every year, 4,000 women are killed by partners. That leaves a pretty good number of male victims too. I've seen the same crimes covered over and over by ID.
I subscribe one month per year to catch up on anything new. The new material runs out quickly, and half the month is spent on old, even if it's touted as new.
Unfortunately, "Discovery" is inappropriate to the name. Let's call it "Investigation Regurg."

Accounts of homicides (some of them well known - also featured by other crime shows) standing out by the storytelling/personal perspectives.
it differs greatly from 'i survived' but it definitely is on the same level of heart wrenching intensity...
i find this was very respectful to the victims - on both sides - and makes you see and feel the consequences of such acts.. all these people are so incredibly strong for being what they are today.. and how they cope... and it really makes you question your own connections to close ones. i immediately texted my sister i rarely see after episode 5

- exactly because it is true to the subject matter, because it doesn't distort or sensationalise. music is not abused and no unnecessary re enactments. in fact, i just finished the last episode and seem to remember only in some replications of some moments.
