Unlike Season One, there are far....

Too many 'pretty boys' as leads in this Season 2. Save for Matteo Matari (Francesco de Pazzi) the rest have a direct impact on the 'connection' to the script which was not the issue with any of Season One's episodes - it was solidly cast and drew all viewers in. No explanation, save in the brief noting '...the late Cosimo', is given for 'Cosimo's' (Richard Madden) absence from the script This is a huge omission and it seems a whole new team of script writers have replaced the first. Lastly the initial episode is more 'formula' than engaging. The script one only hopes the rest is worth watching but it also seems to dragging a source for 'Romeo and Juliet' as a subplot.

Trivia
Sarah Parish (Lucrezia) guest starred in two episodes of Merlin (2008) (episodes Beauty and the Beast (2009) and Beauty and the Beast II (2009)) in which Bradley James (Giuliano) was a main protagonist.

Goofs
Lorenzo's brother Guiliano is shown as being in his late teens to early 20s at the time of the supposed attempt on Piero's life. In fact he was 13 at the time of the aborted attempt to overthrow the Medici in 1466 and had nothing to do with it.
