Wow, just wow! The Rage blew me away. I have watched tbis film so many times. Everything about it is spot on, the storyline, pace, and pov cinematography is just incredible and a twist that is perfectly executed. Not many films can pull this off, but the RAGE did it perfectly. Its a great to see a new spin on the infection/zombie genre. The unsettling, pov perspective makes it feel so much more realistic, you really do feel like you're in the film. If you get the chance watch it in VR, it will blow your head off! Joshua Cleave is an amazing director and I can't wait to see what he does in the RAGE part 2.
Far too scary for my cowardly tastes, full as it is of zombies and gore, but done very well.
I really liked the first person perspective and thought that the lead actor was very natural in his role.
A great story to expand upon, as it has the beginnings of something much bigger, much like its diminutive Director (The cute, but dead Janitor). The Rage 2 is out soon and I look forward to seeing where this story goes, even if it is from behind a cushion.
The Rage is a pretty cool zombie film that's shot all from one person's POV during a zombie outbreak. I was lured in by all of the film's festival laurels and it is clearly deserving of the recognition it has received. The POV style gives it immediacy and really makes you feel like you're there. While watching a zombie movie you can't help but wonder how you would react in that situation, and having a zombie outbreak in a lab/office setting makes for a relatable scenario (if there ever were one haha). The lead character ends up having to do things like slam zombie coworkers' heads and other body parts in doors to survive. Additionally, all of the long POV takes make for an impressive bit of coordination and choreography on the part of all of the support cast and crew in order to make everything perfect in a take, so well done to the team. The rage is fun and definitely worth your 9 minutes. I would watch more if I could.
Zombie films have become tiresome in the last few years.. as someone that lived the genre even I had become fed up.. simply because almost every story was the same.
This short was a breath of fresh air.. although technically in this short they're not zombies, they're more along the lines of the Infected from the 28 days later franchise it's still a zombie film..
Joshua Cleave directs this short and the main bulk is shot from the POV of the Protagonist a la Hardcore Henry.. performances are OK as the majority of the cast are infected ragers..
There is a nice little twist at the end and I am looking forward to The Rage 2..
Well Done to all involved and I can definitely see the Director going on to bigger things in the near future ..
Bravo👏👏👏
This is the first film directed by Joshua Cleave I have watched and I was impressed with it's form and quality. The pace is fast; the atmosphere it creates nail biting. The POV shots were ambitious and generally worked very well, I could really feel it was me traversing the corridors and stairs! I felt the addition of the CGI was unobtrusive and added to the quality of the piece. Reading the accompanying notes I marvel at the effort and commitment shown by the director and all the other participants in getting this piece to the screen. A fabulous effort leading to an entertaining outcome. I look forward to seeing more from this director.
