    A place to call home.

'The Walking Dead: The Final Season (2018)' takes place several years after 'The Walking Dead: A New Frontier (2016)' and gives players full control of series regular Clementine as she and AJ continue to fight for survival in an ever-hostile world. This time, though, your actions have more consequences than they may initially seem to: AJ is watching everything you do and he's a quick learner. This mechanic is almost solely why the game is so utterly compelling, as what would normally be a simple fight for survival actually turns into a challenging fight for the sole. The game will force you to think about your actions even more than usual, especially since AJ can and will act on his own according to what you've taught him. It's a stroke of genius, really. The narrative plays with some interesting themes and brings up stimulating questions. What does morality really look like in a post-apocalyptic world? Do words like 'murder' matter anymore? How do we know there aren't still people trapped inside the walkers? Even if there aren't, what makes it right to kill them? There are no correct answers and that's the point. It's remarkably effective, really. Though the plot does have a few issues with pacing and perhaps scale, it's ultimately engaging and enjoyable throughout. The game also mixes things up from a gameplay perspective, with a slightly more in-depth combat system replacing the simple QTEs of prior titles and some areas in which you're given a bit more room to explore. The combat isn't fantastic but it does its job, asking you to move around the battlefield and strategically place your blows. It makes for a more hands-on feel overall. Of course, the game's meat-and-potatoes is still its dialogue and dialogue options. The choices feel natural and the writing is on-point, even if there are still a few inevitable instances of 'false agency' and some larger choices that perhaps don't matter as much as they pretend to. The piece serves as an appropriate end to the series, though, with a satisfying finale that's every bit as emotionally impactful as you'd hope. As a whole, it's a poignant, distinct and subversive 'interactive story' that's as enjoyable as it is compelling. 9/10.

What an amazing journey Telltale you will be missed

This was a great story, one of the most memorable video games I've ever played. Watching Clem grow up felt like almost a child of mine. The ending was great no spoilers here. If you're new to this game play through the 4 full games. To the staff at Telltale it's been real great games through out the years and as a studio you guys will be missed. Thanks Skyward also for fininshing this final series. What a great ending and a tribute to a great story.

    I am Crying!!

This review sums up all the main three games.

The best series of games I have ever played. I can't just get over with all the main three games. Brilliant emotional masterpieces. The best story telling ever. I never felt bored even a moment in these wonderful games. My favorite video game character Clementine. Honorable characters like Lee, Kenny and AJ. It was the best experience I had of my life. I cried a lot smiled a little. That's the way it is. Never forgotten Clementine. An amazing finale of a season. Thank you to all the developers.

    Amazing season, beautiful ending

Easily one of the best seasons in the series so good that it's even comparable to the first season and a great improvement over a new frontier which was kinda forgettable.

Clementine is easily the best that she has ever been in terms of character progression and her relationship with aj is the biggest highlight of this game along with a lot of new characters that most of them are fleshed out and you spend a good amount of time interacting with them and your relationship can change with them based on your choices throughout the game.

It also has a great villain with a returning character that i won't spoil, minerva was a really badass character i wish we had more time with her since this game is long enough to give everyone a good amount of screen time and that brings to my only problem with the game, it should have been 5 episodes instead of 4 really long episodes that can feel kinda boring if you try to play it in 1 walkthrough because this season unlike a new frontier slows a lot to give characters more time but i think the pacing could have been a little bit better (season 2 i think had the best runtime without feeling tired or rushed) overall it's the best finale we could have hoped for clementine and easily the most satisfying ending in the series.

Fantastic heartwarming ending to the series.

Finally I've finished the entire TWD series from telltale. I already knew how this one ended years ago but for the first time I'd just finished playing the entire series from 1-4.

This series was really something special, from iconic characters to great stories, telltale and skybound really produced a masterpiece of franchise.

Although the third instalment in the series wasn't the greatest, the final season made up for it.

Everyone that got Clem to this moment here will always be remembered in our hearts.

Thank you Telltale for blessing us with this beautiful story, and thank you Skybound for finishing Clementines.

    • Trivia
Skybound Games would continue to develop episodes 3 and 4 with the original developers of Telltale Games. This was because of the majority shutdown of the original studio. The news was announced by Robert Kirkman at The Walking Dead (2010) panel at New York Comic Con.
    • Goofs
When AJ chops off Clementine's leg to prevent her from dying to the zombie bite, the infection has progressed far enough that her skin was turning gray, and she still survived it. Wheras in Lee's case in the first game, if he tried to cut off his arm when he got bitten, he does it long before he started turning gray, and he still died from the infection because he waited too long.
