Right, well while I never had heard about this 2017 horror movie from writer and director Geno McGahee, then I still opted to watch it, since it was a horror movie that I hadn't already seen.
Sure, I harbored zero expectations to the movie, given the movie's sort of low budget appearing cover.
Writer Geno McGahee didn't exactly put together an outstanding script for this movie. It felt like a film class project of some kind. The narrative was not particularly entertaining or scary, and that made sitting through "Halloween Tales" anything but a treat.
Something that spoke in favor of "Halloween Tales" was the fact that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. But the acting performances were wooden and amateurish for the most parts.
If you enjoy horror movies, then you should spare yourself the anguish of suffering through 82 minutes of this movie.
As for the special effects in "Halloween Tales", well let's just say that you have to look long and hard for those, as there aren't any.
"Halloween Tales" feels like it was a movie made by a bunch of friends sitting around drinking and one blurted "hey, let's make a movie" and went to get his dad's old video camera.
My rating of writer and director Geno McGahee's 2017 "Halloween Tales" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.
