Imagine being locked into a room with a lawyer rattling off legal arguments with no emotion or in fact any human attributes at all - and you can't get out. That's Ari Melber's dinnertime show on MSNBC. Best not to have it on while you are eating dinner if you hope to digest your food.
It gets worse. Ari likes rap music or Hip Hop which is the only thing he shows any emotion for and he adeptly works it into his news coverage and interviews. A good example of this was a recent interview with Tom Hanks that was a complete disaster culminating in Ari playing rap lyrics to Hanks in an attempt to prove some sort of rap connection to Hanks? Say what?
Sorry counselor - you lost your case.

I am so happy that Ari Melber got his own show! I enjoyed when he was a guest on other MSNBC shows but now we get a whole hour! The Beat offers a unique perspective, because Ari Melber is an attorney and a legal consultant for MSNBC. I'm fascinated with the legalities--especially with this White House--and really appreciate his insights. He manages to take some of the emotion out of the news, which is refreshing and sometimes a great relief, and focus on the legal impact. Ari never loses his cool! In fact, he IS cool-- how many hosts can you really say that about? And he's really funny, too. (If you like Hip Hop and Rap, you really have to check him out. Just do it, you will see what I mean.) Great addition to the evening lineup, I watch it every night.
I'm a long time Ari Melber regular. Recently however I've found that I can't get through his program. I am so sick of hearing about Trump's legal problems. If you watch this program on a regular basis you know all the key points. What I can't understand, is why Melber beats the same horse night after night when there's nothing really new to report. He needs to broaden his reporting on political issues. There's a lot more going on in the country that needs reporting and analysis. It seems to me that MSNBC is addicted to Mr Trump because the whole evening lineup has this same problem of fixation on our ex-president. One other complaint that I have is the predictable stable of 5-6 Talking Heads. For heaven's sake get some new faces Mr Melber, it would make your program a lot more interesting.
I especially appreciate Ari's legal analysis and related guests. His delivery of facts requires no hype. Too many of our citizens are not aware of the serious abuses that are undermining our Justice branch of government or are aware of those champions who are risking their personal wellbeing to bring accountability to our political criminals.
However, Ari's substitutes are putting on a squeaky, loud yelling show that I cannot abide. Emotional, extremist type hype is an inappropriate delivery method of legal news and information. I resent Jason Johnson yelling at me in my own living room.
I expect the MAGA party is doing everything possible to shut Ari's show off.

I've grown increasingly tired and disappointed with Ari. He talks way too much. He is too full of himself. He acts like my most annoying Professors at Brown- arrogant in showing off that they were smarter and wittier and more hip than their students.
Please turn it down 25%, Ari. It is becoming difficult watching your 6:09 pm show- which I used to love. Now I barely make it through 30 minutes before throwing the clicker at my screen in frustration.
MSNBC needs to arrange an intervention to shake up Ari. I'm confident the network can willingly get many viewers to participate. Ari is brilliant and charming. Just too much!
