    Good Short Film

    Grandpa & Marika (1975)

    *** (out of 4)

This eleven-minute short film was directed by Lawrence David Folds who would later producer the cult classic MALIBU HIGH. I was surprised to see how much I was entertained by this B&W short as there's no narration or any spoken words. Instead we basically just look at an elderly couple as they get up in the morning, go about their day and then go to bed. I'm guessing this was the director's grandparents perhaps? Either way, this was a rather entertaining film that at least drew you into the characters thanks in large part to the nice score as well as some good cinematography. I thought the film was captivating and it at least held my attention throughout the running time. Obviously there's nothing ground-breaking here but it's a nice short.
