The song received criticism from fans of Metallica who claim the main guitar riff is copied off of Metallica's 1997 song "Bad Seed." The difference is the tuning. "Bad Seed" is in E-flat whereas "Your Time Has Come" is performed in standard E tuning. Interestingly enough, Chris Cornell toured as a member of Soundgarden with Metallica in 1996. In addition to this, the guitar riff of "Your Time Has Come" has been compared to Soundgarden's "Get on the Snake" with notable difference being the time signature.
