Aroni Tokhon

The setting of this film covers an eleven year period from 1992-2003, during the communal riots between the Muslim and Hindu community in Kolkata and its aftermath. It speaks of sacrificial love, communal conflict, betrayal, missed opportunities, remorse, forgiveness, and redemption - all done to the accompaniment of some of the most beautiful music and poetry ever heard. Paoli Dam, Pratik and Iraneil Sengupta, the tragic love triangle, played their parts well. I do not want to say more for fear of giving away too much information about the movie, but I can surmise that this film is one that many will watch again and again. It is one to watch and one to own. I love this movie. Ten stars!

Ten stars for the extraordinary soundtrack. A beautiful gorgeous film filled with poetry that made no sense whatsoever but was lovely nonetheless.
