Beerland

Meg never looks enthusiastic about everything. They can better look for a better host. The idea for the show is nice but could be much more informative.

My husband just started home brewing and loves it. I found Beerland on TV and thought he'd like it. The series is good but she needs more personality and she needs to be more descriptive (informative) about the beers she is tasting.

The show has a lot of potential. They go to pretty interesting locations and local places that really ingrained into the community. The problem is that the host has the personality of a bag of flour. She isn't engaging, warm, kind- anything. It's like she hates her job. She sits there waiting for someone to impress her and it's on camera for everyone to see. Maybe she has a social anxiety or something, but then she shouldn't be the host.

Beerland seems like a disguised, sponsored ad by ABInBev for Golden Road. Meg Gill is a pretty boring host with no personality and much of what she says feels scripted. The premise of Beerland is kind of cool but at the same time it seems like a ripoff of the Pro-Am Homebrew Competition that's been going on at the GABF since 1986. I'm not sure how honest Meg is as I've never seen her say anything bad about any of the homebrew beers she's sampled... maybe that says more about ABInBev than all the different homebrews she's tried. One of the good things that comes from Beerland is how it shows all the different people around the country homebrewing.
