AMC Networks August 2024 Schedule Announced

The AMC Networks August 2024 schedule has been announced. It includes new episodes of Snowpiercer Season 4 and Orphan Black: Echoes, both available on AMC and AMC+.

Sundance Now offers an impressive lineup of thrillers including the provocative new tennis drama Fifteen-Love, starring Aidan Turner (Poldark), a new season of hit Nordic noir Wisting, and the new two-part special Kennedy, Sinatra, and the Mafia. Meanwhile, Acorn TV offers new installments of fan-favorite international series Signora Volpe and Under the Vines.

Other highlights include new episodes of BBC America’s landmark nature series Planet Earth: Mammals, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, and the highly-anticipated second season of Allblk’s breakout drama Kold x Windy, among other new series, films, and specials across its suite of targeted streaming services.

Kerr Logan, Michael Smiley, Eileen O’Higgins star in gallows humour tale of Victorian photographer who investigates murders.

Acorn Media Enterprises (Ame) has come on board Irish period drama series Dead Still, currently shooting in Ireland for national public service broadcaster Rte.

Ame, the UK-based development division of Us Ott channel Acorn TV, has secured all rights to the series for the Us, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. It also has co-premiere rights for Canada and secondary rights for Ireland.

Comcast Plants Acorn TV in Xfinity On-Demand Menu
The British — and others — are coming to Comcast. Acorn TV, a subscription video-on-demand service specializing in U.K. and international television, is now available to the cable giant’s Xfinity TV customers nationwide.

It’s the first pay-tv distribution deal for Rlj Entertainment’s Acorn TV, which offers a lineup of mysteries, dramas, and comedies previously unavailable to U.S. audiences. The advertising-free Svod service is available to Comcast subs for $4.99 monthly.

“The addition of Acorn TV and its curated collection of standout international television provides even more choice to our Xfinity TV customers, giving them another way to watch their favorite series or discover new and classic programs,” said Michael Imbesi, Comcast Cable’s VP of movies and pay-per-view programming.

'Maudie' leads Irish Film and Television Academy awards nominations
Full list of nominations revealed for 15th edition of awards.

The Irish Film and Television Academy (Ifta) has unveiled the nominations for its 2018 film and drama awards.

Now in its 15th year, the event celebrates the best in Irish film and TV from the past 12 months.

In the film categories, Aisling Walsh’s Maudie, starring Sally Hawkins, leads the way with six nominations including best feature film and director.

Cardboard Gangsters, Handsome Devil, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Farthest follow with five nominations, while The Drummer And The Keeper, The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, Maze and Michael Inside received four apiece.

The Lodgers, Pilgrimage, Song Of Granite all received three nods, while Lady Bird received two.
