Kim was not only a taxi driver but someone who worked with foreign reporters because he owned two private vehicles used as "hotel taxis." A photo of Hinzpeter and Kim can be found online, confirmed by the wife of the late reporter.
- GoofsThe German passport contains the color photo with face directly toward the camera. The German requirements were that the photo be in black and white, that the bearer turns his head slightly away from the camera, and that the ear be visible.
The photo did not show either metal riveted rings or crimped edges. Gluing the photo to the passport wasn't allowed.
