As a fan of the F Word as presented on UK television, I was hoping for the best. This was a big disappointment. Fox (and their associates) has changed the premise to make it impossible to care about who wins. The celebrity interviews stink. Gordon's segments on cooking are brief and odd. At least in the UK version we got some of his culinary knowledge. This was a big disappointment but it was not completely unexpected, based on what Fox has done to Gordon's prior series.
Maybe it will improve, but I don't think so. Once established, the formula is just repeated over and over.

I was a fan of The F word,..but the US version misses the notes that made the UK version likable,..make the stars cook the meals. The makeup gag by Tony Gardner and his EFX crew was awesome. But the rest of the show was disjointed and didn't make sense. I'd rather watch Masterchef or Masterchef Junior,..hell Masterchef Canada is better. Just saying this show had awkward editing and made me feel that I could turn it off at any moment,..and not miss a thing. I rather watch him doing what made him famous or reviewing Hotels.
Had high expectations but this was the worst television episode I have seen in my entire life. Extremely pointless and boring. I love watching cooking shows but this was hardly about making food at all. I have no interest in watching this disaster ever again. Would recommend Masterchef instead.
I was a big fan of the UK F Word series, it was informative and unpretentious and entertaining...it was all about the food.
No surprises that the the US (Fox) version is the opposite. This show is disjointed and gimmicky and hard to stomach. I'm surprised that Ramsay can't realise what made the UK version work and apply it to the US version. I guess the only taste he has is in his mouth.

I've enjoyed many of Ramsay's shows over the years. He's one of the few celebrity chefs who can actually cook and his personality has spiced up more than one such show.
This however, was a disaster. There's no other way to put it. Totally contrived without an ounce of authenticity to it, the show jumps all over the place without continuity or forethought. By the end of a show, I'm not invested in the dish, the recipes, the contestants, their stories, the outcome of the challenge, or the silly little celebrity cook-off challenge that is interjected for no apparent purpose.
Ramsay has become a gold mine for Fox, and they're doing to him what networks do every time they create a new "hit" show. They completely overexpose both the original show's format and the individuals who helped it get off the ground.
I would rather be forced to sit through an episode of Joanie Loves Chachi. Universally rated as one of the worst shows of all time, you should google and watch the show's intro to re-calibrate your low water mark and remind you just how bad TV can be. Candidly, The F Word isn't much better.
