Beautful story the acting was excellent especially tashie the main lead . had a lot of ups and downs really enjoyed this movie .
The movie's main premise is primarily the relationship between the 3 main protagonists, and how Jazz brings them together. The title 'kids on the slope' refers to their high school being situated on top of a hill where each day they have to walk and down the steep slope- which is pretty tiring for them.
I was hoping for more Jazz scenes but it is more of a relational story. The 2 boys come from broken families and music is their main outlet. Along the way there are love triangles, love rectangles, mis-communication, family issues, etc.
The 'hooligan' is actually a nice guy at heart, the other boy really reminds me of Frodo Baggins from Lord of the Rings! His height, mannerisms, looks.
What I like about this movie: -the movie is set in the late 60s - and all the nostalgia that goes along with it- old record stores, telephones, vinyl record player, vintage cars, etc.
-The music scenes where they jam, performed with each other-the spontaneity and communication between them ( I think in total maybe around 5 main jazz scenes in the whole movie?- 1st basement jam, 2nd basement jam, bar scene jam, school hall performance, church jam).
-The chemistry between the 2 boys.

Loved the movie! It really is different to all the other movies and it just makes you fall in love with Jazz even more! It's not only about fun and love which makes the movie even better. 10/10 ^^
This movie was pretty good. Though I have to say that this movie is way less fun than the original anime. It missed a lot of elements that the series did have. And of course, the series is longer than the movie so they had to shorten it. But I think they could have added a bit more scenes that were in the series. If you haven't seen the series, then this will be a great movie. If you have seen the series, you can still watch it, but the series is way better in my opinion. Overall, this movie is quite fun. Especially if you like jazz.
The coming of age movie has 3 high school students and uses jazz music to continue the story. The background of the story is Japanese cities and the '60s, World War II, which shows that the background of the story is very depressing. But the characters and jazz are the brilliance of this story. Another storyline that helped the three of them to face and transcend family, love, and friendship.
The highlight of this story is the harmonious blend of jazz without feeling weird or awkward also the actors and actresses of a good performer give a feeling of their real friendship. The picture is and the composition is beautiful and well organized. Anyway, the picture can promote the message that the movie wants to communicate well. Use jazz as the main theme. There was put in just the right fit and the music was a good substitute for words and feelings. It makes the audience feel good about jazz music.
After watching it, I felt love and warmed my heart and grew up with them. Loved both pictures and jazz music.
