Meet the man behind the Rudy story

This documentary on Dan "Rudy" Ruettiger is truly inspirational. The film follows Rudy some 40+ years after he defied all odds and played as a Notre Dame football player as a walk on. We see Rudy on campus talking to students and we get a feel for his gritty yet likable personality. We get to hear his unlikely story from his youth and how he defied all odds time and time again to achieve is ultimate dream and beyond. Highly recommended!

Near the end of the movie, Rudy is at a cemetery looking at the grave marker for John Driscoll. This can be confusing because the president of Holy Cross who helped Rudy was John Driscoll and one of Rudy's Notre Dame teammates was John Driscoll. The grave marker is for the John Driscoll that D-Bob's daughter Kara married. John was Notre Dame's assistant lacrosse coach. The boys who are with Rudy at the cemetery are John and Kara's triplet sons who were born sixteen months before their father died from a brain tumor.
