    Surface level, but cool.

Other than having the most unnecessarily long title I've ever seen, this anime wasn't bad. For the most part I was interested in what the characters were doing, I thought the world was intriguing, and the premise was fun. I do think it is a bit generic and forgettable, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good watch. I just think there are better anime out there with similar premises. Probably the highlight for me was the art direction, as the backgrounds and locations were excellently done and really beautiful to look at. Overall not a bad show, but I would recommend other anime over this one, such as Sword Art Online or Chivalry of a Failed Knight.

    Review you need

First off, this anime is dialogue-driven it means its all "talk" not much action but their is action but mostly talking. It is actually an amazing anime and a very underrated one. It shows this human Willem is his name protects this children called 'leprechauns' who wields weapons they dont fear death thats why Willem is to protect them as the story progress the emotional the story is. Its all about how to live, to protect someone, to love someone eventhough youre different. Thats why i love this anime the dialogue is so good the interaction is entertaining sometimes very cute. The romance is cute and very real at that. And the ending is so emotional, so heavy at my heart that almost cry. THIS ANIME IS WORTH IT TO WATCH

    I loved most of it!

WorldEnd was for me enjoyable, but I didn't like the ending.

For the first six minutes (ignoring that first minute sequence, that is) it tells you a lot about the world! After a young woman asks a would-be savior to help her find a location, the dialogue gives way to a beautiful love song (a unique rendition of "Scarborough Fair") and a sequence of their adventures in the city. WorldEnd is most definitely a love story, or at least, the anime covers the parts that could be called a love story. I haven't read the light novels or the manga, so I'll only be covering the anime.

So this is the introduction we get into this series, it's about 6 minutes of saccharin storytelling. After a brief conversation where she thanks him for a life changing experience, she says fondly that she can now easily die with peace for having shared the moment. And then our two characters part ways, not having given each other names, and the girl asking him to forget ever meeting her at all. But it is obvious to the viewer that their fates are linked. I won't go into details on that first minute sequence, and I feel like it would have been better if they hadn't even put that there. The story is about Willem, one of the last remaining humans and Cththolly the leprechaun.

This is a pretty short series at only 12 episodes in length. The music in the show is pretty good, "Scarborough Fair" for example is easily recognizable (though the lyrics are a bit different from the original, sung from a female perspective instead). When the show uses the term leprechaun they refer to the Gaelic myth of magic-wielding fairies, and not so much the American idea of a little tiny human wearing green and granting wishes.

Living a life of subsistence and mired in debt, the goblin Grick offers to Willem a job. Willem is hesitant to take the job once he finds out it's for the military, as he is incapable of fighting any longer. Though he relents when he finds out it's just a job of "watching over some weapons in a warehouse." Those weapons, as it turns out, are fairies.

The story is sweet. I enjoyed it immensely. But then the ending came and I was really left scratching my head. Is this really it? Is there no more to the story? The anime has no second season, nor is one planned. I'll probably try picking up the manga and see if something changes there, and barring that, possibly the light novel. If you're looking for a lot of intense action, you're not really going to get that here. This is about characters discovering their humanity in a world where there's very little of that left.

I certainly wanted to find out how it all ends, but you won't get that from the anime alone.

    Surprisingly enjoyable

Five hundred years have passed since the humans went extinct at the hands of the fearsome and mysterious 'Beasts.' The surviving races now make their homes up on floating islands in the sky, out of reach of all but the most mobile of Beasts. Only a small group of young girls, the Leprechauns, can wield the ancient weapons needed to fend off invasions from these creatures. Into the girls' unstable and fleeting lives, where a call to certain death could come at any moment, enters an unlikely character: a young man who lost everything in his final battle five hundred years ago, the last living human awakened from a long, icy slumber. Unable to fight any longer, Willem becomes the father that the girls never had, caring for and nurturing them even as he struggles to come to terms with his new life, in which he feels the pain of helplessly waiting for his loved ones to return home from battle that his 'Daughter' once felt for him so long ago. Together, Willem and the girls gradually come to understand what family means and what is truly worth protecting.

I honestly thought this was a fun series to watch.

I really liked the characters as well as the animation and OST.

    Definitely worth your time.

    Rote but enjoyable story.

Overall the animation is solid with a fairly interesting "world", and although I'm not a fan of the overly common older man + Lolicon/Hebephilia genre it actually made sense and worked in this instance when lifespans are short as indicated.

Music choice for the first / final episode was exceptional as is the storytelling that happens along with it (I seem to have a weakness for "Scarborough Fair").

The story of the male leads suffering could have been done a little better, but I could still identify with his loss, so all things considered it was not bad..

The bleakness of the world, along with those trying to find happiness was well handled, all in all it was worth the time and I'd enjoy a second season
