    Exciting and energetic sequel

Australia has found a niche in crime drama, much as have Scandinavians with their crime. I think such crime drama is mainly intended for an Australian audience. I would understand if British or American viewers found it hard to rate such shows highly because the Australian culture is so prevalent in them. I am Australian, and I loved Killer Cop. The show really is a worthy instalment to the Roger Rogerson saga. The genre now a great range of shows to chose from, including the Underbelly seasons and films, Bikie Wars, and Killing Time. I loved the way this show could include relevant scenes from the earlier Blue Murder. If you really want to enjoy this show to the full, see that show first. Quite an eye-opener!

Not the killer sequel you expect, but....

Although it doesn't carry the same, clout, or impact, then the original, 22 years, prefore, this is still an entertaining ride, as seen in it's brilliant portrayal by one of Oz's great actors, reprising his role, as the infamous killer cop, never letting his guard down, and being even better, second time around. Now now longer with the NSW police department, never changing corrupt cop, Roger Rogerson, is the objective of one cop's obsession to bring down. He too, a solid straight arrow (Nable, solid too in his performance) has his own vices. He heads an undercover team to bring down Rogerson, through his friends, and that he does. This two part series, traces Rogerson, from the mid 80's, through his small 92-95 prison stint (two more followed later) right through to the involvement, and execution of the university student Jamie Gao, back in 2014, where I thought they would of spent more time on this part, which came as short sheeted, bitter disappointment. Apart from that, the series quite extensively covers Rogerson's wherabouts and dealings, where we see a more human and good side of Roger, like we've got to know the infamous cop, deeper, but the truth be known, he was a bad man. He also found a new love too (the great Collette), and I really liked seeing the softer side of him. Performances, big or small, deliver the goods, Roxburgh, even mastering the hobble, at Rogerson's much older years, towards his last arrest. I'll be honest, and say this does not carry, nowhere the same impact or frightening energy as the original. If still watched today, you'll find age, pretty much, hasn't tainted it at all. Roxburgh, Nable, and Booth as a sexy uncover cop, were the performances that stood out for me. If a fan of the first, this is still a recommended watch. Just don't expect it, to match the same greatness of the original. You won't find it here. Great writing, especially in the soliquay's Rogerson delivers, at start and finish.

Well worth the time picking up where we left off from the original mini series.

Blue Murder: Killer Cop picks up where we left off from the hard hitting mini series that debuted in 1995. The original series ended which saw Detective Sergeant Roger Rogerson (Richard Roxborough) being dismissed from the NSW Police Force in disgrace, and Arthur "Neddy" Smith (Tony Martin) arrested.

Richard Roxborough reprises his role as Roger Rogerson (now older) and the various events from the late 1980's which saw him mixing with various criminal elements, doing time in prison, finding various jobs here and there such as scaffolding, and to more recently which saw him jailed for life for the 2014 murder of Jamie Gao.

Richard Roxborough's portrayal of Roger Rogerson is still excellent, but by far and away his performance in the 1995 mini series is still the most memorable.

The rest of the supporting cast featuring an array of Australian actors include Toni Collette (Muriel's Wedding), Matt Nable (Arrow), Emma Booth (Underbelly: The Golden Mile), Damian Walshe-Howling (Blue Heelers), Dan Wyllie (Chopper), Justin Smith (Howzat! Kerry Packer's War), Aaron Jeffrey (McLeod's Daughters), Steve Le Marquand (Beneath Hill 60), Aaron Pedersen (Water Rats), Peter Phelps (Stingers), and Tony Martin (reprising his role as Neddy Smith from Blue Murder).

Even through Blue Murder is still one of the best Australian mini series, Blue Murder: Killer Cop is still well worth the time.

    7/10.

Blue murder too much truth for the NSW Cops

Entrenched systemic and endemic corruption by the New South Wales Police.... Blue Murder by the A B C shows how Police can get away with murder.

Getting Away with murder is the :: Lamfranchie shooting...I played a small role in the Blue murder production in the Lamfrancie Shooting when the undercover cop's ran across the road from the Pub to release::Neddy SMITH and sanction the murder......I was the plain clothes officer in the Black leather jacket ( un credited )

Blue murder is an exposee into the working of the N S W Police in the early 80's The Brotherhood of viper's and snake's......Loading suspects up with false charges and : Green lighting crimes with chosen criminal's using intelligence from the :: Green lighted criminal's to reduce the competition for armed robberies and similar.

Blue Murder is a must watch for anyone who has experienced corruption.... Richards Roxborough and Tony Martin play pivotal roles in the : roller coster ride into the criminal scene and New South Wales Police corruption....
