I like how all the reviews are either 10 stars or 1 star, really gives you the impression on how this about being pro Trump or anti Trump. Objectively, this show is really pushing the anti-trump sentiment to the extreme, while the lead actor does a near perfect impression of Trump (too stereotypical maybe, but hè that's part of the joke and i like that usually), but that's the only thing i like about it. The jokes are really trying too hard to be funny: -Pence forgot how to sing happy birthday- -Trump cries like a baby and pops his balloons- Like really?? that's how low comedy has gone? Here's the thing, the script isn't even that poorly written but the execution is too damn forced, "like lets make Trump look as bad as possible than people will love it!" Here in the Netherlands everyone seems to hop on this Trump hate circlejerk as well but quite frankly i'm tired of it. Get this American crap off the Dutch cable (comedy central) and might ass well get the Daily show off too, since John Steward left the show is mediocre at best.
this is a well written show very current and timely often with same day news. the guy who plays Trump is amazing and funny the show always makes me laugh (and cry on the inside, you know why) sometimes i forget that this is an impersonation and not the real thing so that is noteworthy. the show is rapid fire and the interviews are really good i especially liked the Deepak Chopra interview it was very blunt and funny.
Anthony Atamanuik is a talent to behold. His impersonation is unlike any other and really digs into Trump's soul: a twisted, sad little boy. The President Show is hilarious, brilliantly written and executed and exactly what we need during these dark times. Many have said Trump is so absurd that it's hard to parody him but Atamanuik shows us that's not true. So glad that he has taken his character to the screen, where it belongs for the world to see. Anthony is a genius.
By far the most impressive aspect of "The President Show" is star Anthony Atamanuik's astoundingly accurate impersonation of the commander-in-chief. Despite how crowded the field of Trump impressionists has become since the real-estate tycoon first strong-armed his way onto the New York tabloid scene, Atamanuik manages to stand out among the crowd. Peter Grosz's take on Vice President Mike Pence, playing the "sideman" late-night trope, is similarly well-done, though the latter's less threatening personality means the former is the perpetual center of attention.
More important than accurate portrayals, poignancy, or information, is the comedic aspect, and in this too the writers hit the nail on the head. From his notorious fast food obsession, to his childlike jealousy, to the menagerie of yes-man surrounding and enabling him, no stone is left unturned when it comes to mocking the divisive 45th President and his staff. The material ranges from simple puns to more complex sight-gags that take an entire act to fully come together, and all are done in the right mix of ridicule and good taste.
The weakest link in the chain, so to speak, comes down to the third act interview. The guests all too often include figures that appeal to a certain type of affluent left-wing audience- such as commentator Keith Olbermann and New Age/"alternative medicine" advocate Deepak Chopra- which makes the show feel less like a satire and more like a hit piece. When the audience stops laughing and starts cheering, the fun really hits a brick wall, though Atamanuik makes the best of it with his as-always on-point aping of the Donald.
Overall, though, I still highly recommend "the President Show" to anyone who craves "comedy news" done with the biting humor of the "Daily Show" and "Colbert Report".

So sad, so so sad.
At SNL they understand that sketches must be sketches only and therefore they pop up randomly but not all too frequently. A Trump impression is fun for maximum 4 minutes, how they fail to see this is beyond me.
Regardless if you like Trump or not, this show is pure horse-poo. It is an insult to comedy. It is a very cheap way of scoring points/ratings and a very cheap way of making comedy. Just bully 1 person. In two shows I haven't been able to chuckle or laugh out loud. Perhaps its my taste, but I like to think I appreciate comedy and laugh at just about everything.
I cant imagine people appreciate this show and surely I will make it a point to not watch this again, until they make Comedy great, again! So, sad. So sad.
Edit: I've watched some more episodes and it remains very flimsy and borderline funny. I guess people need shows like this to cope with the reality of the real Donald Trump. It is bad enough Trump is in the White House but what is worse is that he has taken over ALL of my favorite shows. SNL, Maher, Colbert, John Oliver. Trump trump, trump.
This show remains to be of very poor quality and is no more than a cheap knock-off parody. What is worse, it aids to the Trump reality. Americans and the Media don't seem to understand that all the news coverage, all the TV coverage and all the free airtime simply add to his Marketing strategy. All of the attempts to make fun of him still resonate his message. The only way to get him out is by ignoring him completely.
