Astoundingly Bad

Story is weak. Acting is bad. Seems like a halfhearted attempt at using a "deep" subject to slip in as much nudity as the editors could massage out. I enjoy a cheap thriller with a healthy amount of bare skin as much as anyone, but this one just lets down. Recommend you spend your free time on anything else.

I almost ate my head. I almost cracked my skull. The producers need to be caned. Cane then knocked on their little heads. It was so unrealistic I could cry. I wanted to jump into my tv and stomp their heads. How do dogs eat a woman in front of alllllllll the inmates. It should have been classified as fantasy. Not thriller. It made me weak honestly. What nudity are people commenting about? An all ladies show and you didn't expect nudity? Seriously. Well, it could have been better acted, better scripted and better almost everything. Yet, I couldn't sto. Till the very end. 😏

Middle of the road

As far as women prison movies go, "Locked Up" is an okay watch. It doesn't bring anything new to the table but that's fine. The cast is also fine. There is nothing glaringly bad with "Locked Up". It's just that there isn't much that stands out either. I might find myself watching this movie again to scratch my chicks-in-chains itch but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Kelly McCart, the leading actress, is shown several times with full frontal nudity. She said in an interview that she was very comfortable with it. "I think it's really important to have nudity sometimes that isn't always 'sexy' because it can help reshape society's inclination to objectify women's bodies. That being said, I was really comfortable with everything that I did and I hope it makes people a little uncomfortable to watch, because that's the point! We did most of the nudity and assault scenes in one day so it was a long day but definitely worth it."
