Frank D'Angelo hits it over the park with The Neighborhood. I've seen several of Frank D'Angelo's movies and this one is a great work of art. A totally realistic story that is thoughtfully written and with a cast performance from some of the best actors that have ever hit the screen. Giancarlo Giannini, Franco Nero, Danny Aiello, Burt Young, John Savage, and there's many more, all have contributed to the validity of this drama with deep characters that come off the page. And I would be a missed if I did not mention Frank D'Angelo's performance in this film. He carries the film like a maestro in an orchestra, with every actor playing off him so perfect, making every move and scene very calculated and deliberate that makes it a joy to watch. Bravo, Bravo, for an outstanding job all around. If you liked Goodfellas or The Godfather, this is a film for you.
Not bad, I mean it's not my favorite movie because I'm not a fan of all the violence. I enjoyed the romantic scenes more. However, in my attempt to find something to watch on a Friday night I saw this on my amazon box and kind of just took the risk. It paid off only for the story between Angie and Angie (yes you read right) it was beautiful and classic bad boy wants good girl. But why do all these movies have so much killing? Can't everyone just get a long?
Amateur filmaker in a B movie at best. Are the 8, 9 and 10 reviews made by family and friends of the director/project?
They say fine wine gets better with age, we'll the same can be said with Frank D'Angelo films. Every film that he produces gets even better the last and The Neighborhood delivers on every cylinder - story, cast, music and creativity. The Neighborhood is raw and edgy which is a typical D'Angelo film style in the way he shoots and frames his characters. The story is authentic and the actors that he's chosen for the main roles to tell his story are heavy weights that deliver knock out punches; Franco Nero (Django Unchained), Giancarlo Giannini (Casino Royale), Burt Young (Rocky), John Savage (The Deer Hunter) and these are just a few. I have seen most of Frank D'Angelo's movies and I am a fan of his style, of movie-making, which is not typical Hollywood. He continues to break the rules which makes his movies so interesting to watch. Like David Lynch, Alfred Hitchcock, Quentin Tarantino, they created masterpieces of art. This is Frank D'Angelo's latest piece of art and I look forward to his next.
I watched The Neighborhood in California with a friend, he is a big fan of Frank D'Angelo's films and was all excited about this new film as it was having a big theatrical release, so he insisted we go see it. I did not know what to expect, I have never seen one of his films but since Danny Aiello and a lot of other actors that I recognized were starring in it I figured it must be decent. Well, there were lots of people in the theater so that was a good sign. I am glad that he pushed for us to see the film because it's a great film and we enjoyed it extremely. After the movie, we started reciting the lines from different scenes to each other just like we did with Good Fellas and The Godfather. We had a great night, with a very memorable movie. Can't wait until it comes to television or DVD so I can watch it again.
