Come As You Are was a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect much of it, thought it was going to be an average movie but it turned out to be quite the opposite. There is not much bad to write about this movie, or at least I didn't see anything bad about it. The acting was really good, and that from the whole cast. Playing a disabled person is not the easiest character to portray but I actually had to check if they were really disabled in real life, that's how good they played that role. The humor was excellent, just the right amount combined with some melodramatic moments made Come As You Are a movie full of emotions. Good job from Erik Linthorst, he wrote an enjoyable and moral uplifting story. Certainly a movie I would recommend and that I will watch again in the future.
Adults with a keen sense of humor will enjoy this film. Sure there a few cringe moments but overall heart warming film.
It makes you laugh, think and its just a wonderful movie.
This film is funny, engaging and touching all at the same time. It brings a widely neglected issue into the spotlight, which I'm thankful for. I enjoyed every minute of it. Watch it if you can!
I remember seeing the documentary about three guys going to a brothel in Spain. That was turned in to a very funny and sad Belgium film. I have to agree with some of the other posters, it's disappointing to see able-bodied actors playing disabled parts. Whilst the film does its best to address issues And difficulties of being a disabled person, they seem to forget that going on a road trip involves having showers and going to the toilet.
Speaking as somebody who is in a wheelchair it would be virtually impossible to take on trips like this without the aid of a carer. Having said that bearing in mind there are very few films about disability out there This does at At least show some of the frustrations and inability to fit into society being a disabled person.
