I followed the story of Trayvon Martin's murder and the trial from beginning to end. The documentary gives great insight into this tragic event from the perspective of the family and shares their emotionally painful journey after the killing. I found it to be quite interesting.
These SWS are ridiculous. No true facts about Trayvon. Nothing about him being a straight A student. Not even the fact that the freaking police told zimmerman not to follow him.
This documentary is from the view/perspective of the family. The details or facts don't have to be verbatim to the trial. Let's remember our justice system isn't always accurate! I believe this docu-series will take the viewer on an emotional ride from the view of the victim's family.
Rest in Power shows everything that happened before and after Trayvon Martin was murdered by George Zimmerman. Trayvon Martin bought skittles and was on his way home in the rain, so he was wearing a hoodie & walking near the houses so h would not get more wet in the rain. Trayvon was on the phone with his friend and told her a car was following him. She told him to run and he did.
Zimmerman profiled him, followed him , got out of his car and chased Trayvon,,attacked and murdered Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman's 911 call to the police should have been evidence that he was the attacker. Zimmerman's carried a gun and had a history of 911 calls on blacks. Trayvon was unarmed and scared to death !!
The defense attorney humiliated Trayvon's friend, whose testimony was true and Zimmerman should have been convicted. I was ashamed of the people who gave to Zimmerman's defense fund. No blacks were on the jury. Trayvon's screams on the 911 tapes broke my heart.
We attended the press conference the day after the police chief was replaced. I watched the whole trial, every word!!!
God bless Trayvon's family and let's get rid of Stand your Ground; Guns, and racism. Stand your ground allows killers to plead self defense and get away with murder. Trayvon was a 17 year old boy. Racism put him on trial instead of Zimmerman. Thank you for "Rest in Power", a wonderful documentary. Remember Trayvon! I do!!

On February 26th 2012, 17 year old Trayvon Martin was stalked, shot and killed on a return trip home from a convenience store by George Zimmerman. What followed was a media circus of spin doctoring and smear campaigns against Martin and his family while Zimmerman stood trial for the second degree murder of Trayvon. He was later acquitted and revels as a "hero" in the aftermath. This documentary series is an insight to Martin's life and the moments leading up to his murder along with the subsequent trial and out cry for justice. It is intricate and detailed, offering arguments and counter points against the allegations the main stream media news pushed (especially Fox News), and paints a full picture of the situation. From the Martin home life before and after to the mental state and violent situations Zimmerman found himself in. The people down voting this series are obviously not going to give this series a chance, their views are set in stone and will not be persuaded, but this series should be watched, it should be shown to high schools as Roots is shown. It is an important series that reflects the persisting problem of racism and xenophobia that still runs rampant in the veins of America to this day.
