The original script called for the ending of the film to involve a rube-goldberg-esque disaster that proved far outside the scope of the productions means. The climax of the film as it appears was originally conceived as a joke proposed by the wildly hungover cinematographer, and was filmed on the same day it was written, with roughly 5 minutes of daylight left by the time they wrapped.
