One of the best Nepali movie ever made..

I didn't use to see Nepali movies thinking that they are just rubbish. After I saw the movie 'Pashupati Prasad', I realized that Nepali movies are taking better moves and they worth to watch. In 'Dhanapati', the same lead actor of 'Pashupati Prasad', Khagendra Lamichhane has done a fantastic work; not only in acting, but also in the dialogues and story.

The movie is about an ordinary man of Terai region of Nepal living in Kathmandu, who has been victim of politics. His dad was killed and he left his village. Later on, he lost his beloved daughter too The story tells how the middle class people are used and affected by the politics. Movie is beautiful. It will make you smile and tear-down along with the scenes. Definitely, worth to watch.

    There's nothing new

To be honest I was expecting so much from the duo who gave Pashupati Prasad. But they presented with Dhanpati is a documentary with some social message. It's like a government ads that appears on the TV screen. The movie got huge plot holes when it tries to link the present and the past. Starting 15 minutes of the movie was on track after that politics happened and everything was long lost.Watch it if u have a cycle and get dominated in Ktm roads by other motor vehicles.

    Poor Movie

Poor story line, poor screenplay and non progressive story. The acting of the actors is very good and appreciable.

Truth is bitter. But when tampered, it becomes tasteless.

The movie tries to show the reality of a life of a common man. But the politics in it makes this movie - not so real. Everything was believable at first. The song 'Sukha Dukha' still gets my eyes wet. The movie is too emotional and relatable, but it got limited to the first half. Once the politics came in, the movie became a fictitious drama and I got disconnected with the character once and for all.

I respect the effort the team has made in this movie. But repeating the same thing starts getting boring no matter how good it is. Still, I wish to see the life of other common man in different context. Keep producing more of them with better story-lines.

My rating - 8/10 for amazing visuals and the performance.

Life runs in a full circle; what goes around comes around

What worked: The movie is heartbreaking and heartwarming considering the narrative of the movie. The screenplay is well written and directed, making it a very fine movie. Dipendra and Khagendra's combo has been appreciated often and this movie tells a story of a common man and a common family. One of the distinct characters of the combo is the use of humane dialogues, body language and story telling. Overall, it's a movie that deserves to be praised for the simplicity of narrative and strong execution. What did not work: I would have cut down the dramatic scenes especially at the final half of the movie, which made the narrative over paced and aggressive in nature. I am. It sure if it's a prop but the scene where the lead burns money was a national joke. They should not have burnt the money down. It's so wrong and that a huge disappointment. Of course, there are other ways to imply the action of burning money. That scene is ethically and religiously so wrong for our culture Final verdict: recommended
