Less Than Human

...or a zombies story. different by what you expect. and touching. a simple story about friendship. one of many subtle lessons about human nature, perception , media truth and the pure reality. nothing complicated. but a real good animation. a film significant for its message and for its cultural references. because the title represents the basic clue for ironic and moving definition of humankind. and the inspired dialogue between the twoo friends, isolated in camp, in a sort of happiness are few details for define this film as special.

This animated short was created a few years after the 2013 film The Returned and the TV series In the Flesh, building on a similar concept: zombies, once mindless and aggressive, are now medicated and have regained their consciousness, speech, and memories. The question facing society is whether they should be reintegrated.

But as this film shows, the greatest obstacle may not be the zombies themselves or their potential unpredictability-but rather the living, driven by fear, hatred, and intolerance.

The concept is thoughtful, the animation is well executed, and the zombie couple at the heart of the story adds a humorous and endearing touch.
