I was unsure this show would work. I'm a wrestling fan, and I know how hard it is to portray the art form, and those who perform it. But this show continues to surprise me week after week. I loved Amell as Oliver Queen on Arrow, and some of his other work. He is perfect in this role and he carries it well but I expected that. What has surprised me is the talent of the surrounding cast, especially the women. Alison Luff, Mary McCormick, and Kelli Berglund are killing it on a weekly basis. There have been some awesome cameo performances that wrestling fans will appreciate and even former NFL star James Harrison is solid and entertaining. My favorite character is Wild Bill, who is played by the great Chris Bauer. The Wire fans will remember him as Frank Sobotka. I just remember him for always being a top notch talent, whatever the role. These great performances are aided by some solid storylines that will keep you invested in the show and the characters.
My only complaints would be the character of Ace Spade, played by Alexander Ludwig, and the awful opening credits and the song that goes with it. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoy this show. I hope it gets another season.

Two of the greatest 2 season tragedies in television. Your Honor and Heels.
This show isn't just for wrestling fans, it opens the door to the sport with a witty script and characters you will invest in. Real life situations are depicted in Heels which are a painful reminder of what grass root wrestling organisations go through. The fighting siblings, the washed up wrestler making a return, defecting wrestlers, promoters at loggerheads, the ascension of women in wrestling. The show has it all and you will be glued especially if you are a wrestling fan. You even went back to watch old matches just to compare.
Kelli Berglund is amazing in the role and it's evident she has trained her socks off to be authentic
This show is well done and truly an honor to the sport. It needs to be picked up by another network if Starz don't realise what they have.

You already know it's gonna be a winner the way the first episode ends. It's a lot more than wrestling and the showmanship behind it. The leads are gonna make this show very very entertaining but also have a lot of depth too. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Being a fan of of both Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) I was looking to this ever since I first heard about it. Well this show not only met my expectations but surpassed them. I'm also a fan of wrestling, not a die hard fan like some other people reviewing here, but still a fan. Even though it's probably more enjoyable if you know you're wrestling, you don't have to be a fan to like this show. It's good regardless if you're a wrestling fan or not. Both Amell and Ludwig are excellent in this. They've both come a long way as actors and really show their talent here. I'm glad to hear this did well enough to her renewed for another season.
I know the show was on STARZ before they canned it but for those on the fence about watching it, just give it a few episodes to warm up to you. We know suicide is a difficult subject, but they do a good job showing the perils of all parties involved with the before and after the person's untimely death. Season 2 is well-written and keeps you engaged each episode with various characters feelings and emotions adding to it's entertainment value. If you enjoy wrestling, romance, comedy, or drama then this show is for you. Hey Netflix, let's get this show renewed so they can finish the story the right way and get more eyes on the product compared to Starz (no offense to Starz)!
