Behen Hogi Teri

#BehenHogiTeri had the potential to be a decent comedy, but a good idea is stretched n becomes boring towards the end, especially when you know that hero n heroine will definitely unite. The film is set in a locality in UP where all boys n girls are treated as bhai-behen, right from childhood. But feelings change as they grow up n then it becomes too late to prove that their love is of a different type. Rajkummar Rao is very good in a light role (after serious stuff like Trapped n Aligarh), but he cannot salvage a bad second-half. The female characters are shown as dumb n contribute nothing to the story. Rating 1.5/5.

I think this movie could have been great but the ending and the average music let it down, superb acting by all, especially Rajkumar Rao and Shruti Hassan(She looked absolutely stunning btw).

The thing about the ending I didn't like was, the way everything was being built up, the whole mess that was being created, I expected the ending to be a bit more dramatic, although, the speech was nice at the end but before that it needed a bit more rayta-failao tbh.

I think this movie and Bareilly ki Barfi are 2 best movies of 2017 imho but both lacked good music, which could have made a huge difference.

The movie starts with a good style and was going smoothly. But suddenly towards the end it became dull and boring slowly. Music is also a drawback of this movie.

It is a breezy romantic comedy and if you like this genre then you will like this film. Rajkumar Rao is exceptional and you would want to see this film only for him.

Comedy is great and performance of Darshan is awesome. It is a good one time watch.

Rajkummar Rao plays a man without a plan in Behen Hogi Teri as he is unable to declare his love to his childhood sweetheart because of the harsh rule imposed by the elders of his neighborhood. The primary theme of the film surrounds this rule of how every guy in the locality is pressurized to see every unmarried girl as a sister. If the guy refuses, he is forcibly tied a rakhi by the girl (not so unwillingly) who he is refusing to follow the rule for. Rao's character is lucky in that sense because the girl he is courting (played by an over- zealous Shruti Haasan) has shown feelings for him. Director Ajay Pannalal drives the story like a romantic comedy but the end product is projected like a drama that goes haywire in the middle. A palpable introduction is followed by a mess, characterized by unnecessary additions of players (Gulshan Grover and Ranjeet) and crescendoed by a predictable climax. Rao's character also loses track of himself and is pushed to the kerb by these unnecessary characters. Behen Hogi Teri is, therefore, an average combination of all romantic comedies we have seen in Bollywood in the last few months with the only exception of a decent loverboy and an allegoric message.
