Taylor Sheridan's Landman Season 2 Gets Exciting Update
Image
Taylor Sheridan and Paramount+ have proven to be a dream team. After the success of the Yellowstone franchise, Sheridan added another star-studded series, Landman, to his growing Paramount+ slate.

Paramount+ renewed Landman for Season 2 earlier this month, two months after its Season 1 finale. The series, which stars Academy Award-winning actor Billy Bob Thornton and Academy Award nominee Demi Moore, has drawn strong viewership numbers. Paramount+ announced today that production on Landman Season 2 has officially started in Texas and released a photo of Thornton holding the script for the first episode.

Image via Paramount+

Filming for Landman Season 1 started in February 2024 and concluded in June 2024. It was released on Paramount+ on Nov. 17, 2024. If Season 2 follows a similar pattern of a four-month filming schedule, Landman Season 2 could premiere in early 2026. Paramount+ hasn't confirmed the release window.

Based on the Boomtown podcast, Landman follows Tommy Norris (Thornton), a landman for an oil company.

Drake’s year, already riddled with setbacks, just took another nosedive. If anyone thought the rapper’s rough streak was behind him, the latest blow just seems to prove otherwise.

Adding insult to injury, the track scooped up multiple Grammy awards, making it clear that Lamar’s words have struck a deep and lasting chord.

The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh Creator Vijal Patel On His Quasi-Autobiographical Sitcom
Image
The 'family sitcom' gets a kick in the pants with The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, the new Freevee series from creator Vijal Patel, a veteran of acclaimed series like Black-ish, The Middle, and The Mayor. The series follows the Pradeep family, Indian immigrants seeking a new life in The United States. However, something clearly went wrong, since the show is told via flashbacks as the family and their neighbors are interviewed by a pair of federal agents investigating a community-shattering arson case.

The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh is loosely based on the life and upbringing of creator Vijal Patel, but with the serialized mystery element adding an extra layer of intrigue and excitement. In addition, being on Prime Video and Freevee instead of traditional broadcast television allows The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh to get away with saltier language and more risqu situations, while still remaining more-or-less family-friendly.

The Office: All the Actors You Forgot Were in the Series
Image
The Office had a prolific run with more than 200 episodes across nine seasons, and it's still one of the most popular sitcoms on streaming services, even though it's been off the air for over a decade. The Office made waves for single-camera workplace sitcoms through its hilarious, emotional storylines, as well as moving character development. The Office delivers strong, consistent comedy, but it's also responsible for kickstarting the careers of many of its cast members, including beloved actors like John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, and Rashida Jones.

The Office helped these actors become household names. However, the sitcom also helped spotlight up-and-coming performers and surprising guest stars who occasionally get overlooked in the larger context of the series. The Office is always fun to revisit, but spotting these forgotten actors makes it even more of a treat.

10 Biggest Changes Foundation Season 2 Makes To The Isaac Asimov Novels
Image
Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Foundation season 2, episode 10!

Foundation season 2 creatively incorporates characters from the Foundation books to keep them alive and central to the story, using techniques like cryo chambers. The show introduces the idea of a genetic dynasty ruled by Emperor Cleon Xvii, which adds complexity and depth to the Imperium. The TV series combines different elements from the books to create new storylines, such as the Second Crisis being an amalgamation of religious conflict and the Foundation's conflict with the Empire.

Foundation season 2 was met with great acclaim from Asimov fans and TV enjoyers alike, despite the many changes from the books. Written by American writer Isaac Asimov, the Foundation novel was originally a set of short stories published in the 1940s. The first two short stories "The Psychohistorians" and "The Encyclopedists" make up a majority of the contents of Foundation season 1, though the show took...

Tina Turner Was Itching To Do Her Own Stunts For Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
Image
In addition to her storied musical career, the late rock legend Tina Turner may have the best run of movie character names of all time. She only played someone else on screen three times in her life, but each occasion was memorable (and memorably named). From The Acid Queen in Ken Russell's "Tommy" to Aunty Entity in "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" to The Mayor in "Last Action Hero," Turner's short-lived cinematic career was defined by roles that felt like they were crafted just for her — with stylish names to match.

Turner's biggest film role came via George Miller, who really did craft the role of the third "Mad Max" film's villain around Turner. According to a retrospective written for NME in honor of the film's 35th anniversary, Miller and co-writer Terry Hayes made up the role for Turner after Miller was captivated by her after seeing her in a British TV interview.

Image
Udpated with more info: Univision’s three-hour Premio Lo Nuestro topped Thursday in the adults 18-49 demographic, sweeping primetime among the broadcast networks.

Among the Big 4 and the CW, Young Sheldon was Thursday’s most-watched program and matched ABC’s Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in the adults 18-49 demographic on a night that also saw CBS’ drama rookie Clarice dip a tenth from its debut a week ago but keep its viewership.

Univision was No. 1 in the demo with Premio Lo Nuestro drawing a 0.8 rating and 2.53 million viewers. The annual Latin music featured performances by Selena Gomez and Daddy Yankee and saw Bad Buddy walk away with the most wins (seven). It aired live from Miami and was hosted by Chiquinquirá Delgado, José Ron and Yuri as hosts of the three-hour show.

CBS, ABC and Fox tied for second behind Univsion in the demo. CBS won overall in viewers, with Young Sheldon steady with last week to pace the network’s comedy block which was back to originals, with B Positive also even. Mom, back for the first episode since announcing this will be its last season, and The Unicorn were both down a tenth.

That provided the lead-in to Clarice, with the 10 Pm thriller series based on Thomas Harris’ novels down a tenth in the demo from its 0.5 start but steady with last’s week’s audience of 4 million in Nielsen’s Live+Same Day fast affiliates. Like last week, it kept 100% of its Unicorn demo lead-in.

In addition to Wheel of Fortune, which rose a tenth week over week, ABC’s game-show lineup included fresh episodes of The Chase and The Hustler, both steady.

On NBC, The Mayor, which grew a tenth, and an encore of Young Rock led into a new Law & Order: Svu, which topped the 9 p.m. hour in the demo as it returned from a break. Dateline followed and jumped two tenths with the first installment of its three-part investigative miniseries The Widower.

Fox’s night included fresh helpings of Hell’s Kitchen and comedies Call Me Kat and Last Man Standing, all steady with last week. On the CW, Walker and Legacies were both even.

The CW’s Critics Choice Super Awards Earn Not-So-Super 0.0 Rating
Lea Michele and Brandon Micheal Hall in The Mayor (2017)
The CW’s telecast of The Critics Choice Super Awards was not exactly super, settling for a 0.0 rating and just 261,000 total viewers. Sunday night was all about the NFL Playoffs — especially that crazy Cleveland Browns game. Due to the nature of live sports, the below fast-national Nielsen ratings — which are not adjusted for time zones — should be considered subject to significant adjustment when final numbers come in. Beyond the pro pigskin postseason, Univision topped Fox’s repeats with its airing of the 2015 movie “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.” Also Read: And the No. 1 TV Show of 2021 (After 7 Days) Is... NBC was first in ratings with a 5.0 rating/25 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 17.3 million, according to preliminary numbers. Following a rerun of its “The Mayor” series premiere, “Sunday Night Football” pregame show “Football Night in America” at 7:30 p.m. averaged a 2.0/10 and 7.8 million viewers.

‘Glee’ Actor Samantha Ware on Why She Called Out Lea Michele (Exclusive)
Image
Samantha Ware was 23-years-old when she first stepped onto the set of “Glee.” A few years prior, she chose to leave college, where she was studying to become a music teacher with a minor in journalism, to audition for “The Lion King.” She booked the role of Nala in the Las Vegas stage production, then landed a starring role in “The Book of Mormon” on Broadway, followed by the Chicago production of “Hamilton.”

When she left New York for her first-ever TV gig on “Glee” in 2015, Ware – a longtime fan of the show – was ecstatic to join the hit series in its final year, as one of the “new kids” in Season 6.

After she had completed filming her first musical number, “Tightrope” by Janelle Monáe, for her first episode in the series, Ware says she felt sidelined by the show’s lead, Lea Michele.

“I knew from day one when I attempted to introduce myself.

Lea Michele Controversy: ‘Glee’ Actors and Other Co-Stars Speak Out
Image
Lea Michele is under fire following accusations made on Twitter by her former “Glee” co-star Samantha Ware, who said Michele made her life a “living hell,” while working on the show.

In the midst of the controversy, many of Michele’s former colleagues from various productions have backed up the sentiment expressed by Ware, establishing a pattern of her apparent on-set behavior.

Ware came forward with her claims when Michele tweeted about George Floyd with the Black Lives Matter hashtag. Ware wrote, “Remember when you made my first television gig a living hell?!?! Cause I’ll never forget. I believe you told everyone that if you had the opportunity you would ‘s— in my wig!’ amongst other traumatic microaggressions that made me question a career in Hollywood.”

After Ware’s tweet caught fire with swift backlash on social media, resulting in Michele losing a brand partnership, Michele released a lengthy apology statement on Instagram,...

“I apologize for my behavior and for any pain which I have caused,” Michele posted in a lengthy statement on Instagram. “One of the most important lessons of the last few weeks is that we need to take the time to listen and learn about other people’s perspectives and any role we have played or anything we can do to help address the injustices that they face.”

Michele posted a tweet on May 29 in support of the Black Lives Matter protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death at the hands of police.

“George Floyd did not deserve this. This was not an isolated incident and it must end. #BlackLivesMatter,” Michele tweeted.
