    Anime-like LSD trip?

This one is hard to rate... I almost always check out new cartoons, and occasionally there are hidden gems among the general muck... such as "Steven Universe". With this show, I hardly can fathom how to rate it and I had to force myself to watch 3 episodes. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't anything that interesting either. But I think I know why, and it's two main factors. And I think that's also why despite this series garnering over a hundred million views, there are virtually no critical ratings or analyses.

Firstly because it's CLEARLY not for anyone over the age of 6. I got absolutely nothing out of it. The story and character development is incredibly basic, hyper-simplified so that toddlers can comprehend it.

Secondly, it's very VERY odd. Almost "Teletubbies"-level odd, but slightly more comprehensible. The world is somewhat reminiscent of "The Little Prince" in its construction of many small moons with different traits and inhabitants, but the story has an anime-like feel... I would say something along the lines of almost a "Samurai Jack" for 3-year olds... and the sum effect of anyone old enough to form complete thoughts watching it boils down to 'wut?'. I can see how very young children overall would be hooked by it. It has all the flashy colors and quick movement that keep little kids... and cats... fixated.

So, I suppose this is the equivalent of having your kids chase a laser pointer dot on the floor. But it's not really an entertaining cartoon for anyone really looking for a higher level of story or characters or humor. You could view it as a competent introduction of story elements, but I really don't think it's going to have much staying power. I predict something of a fad time period which will begin to burn itself out in about 3 more years, much like "Teletubbies".

    Surprisingly a good show

For an animated series that aimed for small children, this was a pretty decent show, good even. The world in the show may be super colourful but don't let it fool you, not everyone is super goody-goody, not even the main character, Hanazuki. Which is great!

I admit, when I first saw the Hemkas, I thought they were going to be annoying like the rabbits from Raving Rabbids. Glad they weren't. In fact, I actually like those little colourful rascals.

I've watched all 27 episodes and I'm really looking forward for their next season. Give this show a try. They're free to watch at Hasbro's official YouTube channel.

    Great job Hasbro!

This is a fantastic, cute and colorful series. I'm glad Mr. Enter introduced me to this through a clip of the opening in Atrocity video #142. It explores the themes of emotions and why you should express them much like Inside Out. I saw all 27 episodes of the first season and I can't wait for Seasons 2 and 3 to come in 2018 and 2019. Did you know Hanazuki is Japanese for Flower lover?

The series is about a humanoid moonflower named Hanazuki (Jessica DiCicco), who is very sweet and friendly and innocent and kind to everyone around her. Whenever she feels an emotion of a certain color, a white object that Little Dreamer gave her becomes that color and it turns into a Treasure Tree that will protect her moon from a black smog known as the Big Bad. That was the standard formula for about half the episodes before we go into a season-long arc where she meets other moonflowers from other moons and they team up to fight off the Big Bad.

    Surprisingly Great Show

Hanazuki: Full of Treasures is a show that took me by surprise when I first watch it. I was expecting a cheaply made, poorly written web series that Hasbro produced with the hopes that it'll garner the same success as My Little Pony. I was happy to see that this wasn't the case. Hanazuki is a show with eye catching scenery, likable characters, a great moral, and an over arching story that is easy to get invested into. Hanazuki teaches people that it's okay to express your emotions and to be honest with yourself, which is something I think a lot of people are never taught. Although the story isn't as deep as Avatar the Last Airbender, it's still interesting enough that you want to see the main cast succeed

An overall 10/10, i'm surprised that this isn't more popular
