The time spell is said to freeze everything except for magical beings: Indeed, snow stops mid-fall and cars unnaturally suspend movement while Lilli (a witch), Hektor (a dragon) and Rupert (Santa Claus' servant) are not affected. However, the spell does not stop fire from crackle, nor it freezes Layla, a girl who is not magical as far as we know.
