Delicious Proposal

I can assure you, it wasn't a delicious proposal. The romance in general was really not good here. The drama was a bit of a mixed bag. At a first glance, the cast was undeniably stacked, Son Ye Jin, So Ji Sub, Ji Sung, and Kwon Sang Woo, however, everyone except the male lead Jung Joon was a side character, he was the main focus throughout. Even Son Ye Jin didn't do much in this drama despite being the female lead. The story could use some spice and maybe other ingredients as well, something was always missing, it didn't feel complete. The male lead character was kinda bland and didn't fit a lead's mold for a drama. There were some nice moments that remind you of the good old raw kdrama days, but they weren't enough to make up for the overall lack of taste.

Son Ye Jin fans will like this series. Her charm and star quality are apparent. The story is quite engaging and moves along at a good pace with a lot of nice food on display. Also the food competitions are quite fun like an early version of Itaewon Class. Considering this show is from 2001 this series isn't dated or slow and the romance is quite well done with parents opposed. Early appearances of So Ji Sub and Kwon Sang Woo. Worth a watch.

I recommend fans of Son Ye Jin, So Ji Sub and Kwon Sang Woo to have a watch on this drama.. nice story filled with love, endeavour to succeed, jealousy, familial relationships and scrumptious food. I watched this because I love watching So Ji Sub and have run out of his works to watch. Worth my time.

This is called "Sweet Proposal" on Viki which was just recently released in 2024, 23 years later! A perfect example of a classic K-Drama with all the elements of the original classics that K-Drama fans love. When I first watched it did n't realize it was going to be an older drama and thought something was "off" with the lighting techniques which prompted me to look up the year when I noticed 2021 and that explained it! However a very enjoyable drama. I gave it only an 8 rating though as the ML was so full of personality and showed his emotions so perfectly well however the FL was kind of boring and blasé and made it a little hard to believe the love connection on her part. The second FL had the same type of exuberance in her performance and made such a better match with the ML. Her love journey was more interesting IMO. For this reason I really didn't like the ending too much as I wish that there was a more fulfilling romantic part in her love story and not so much concentrating on her career ending instead of love ending.
