This is a cheap knock off of Amityville horror and the Shining. The acting is sub par. Just a no. The reason it gets any stars is because of the cheesy horror techniques which made me laugh.
Very bad. The only good thing about it is the idea but not performed well, that is, the acting is awful and it also fails in scares. I laughed instead of being scared. Two stars are fair for this.
Right, well when I sat down to watch "The Ghost Beyond" I must admit that I had expected more of an actual ghost movie and not just a flaccid interpretation based on "The Others". Especially taking the movie's cover/poster into consideration. But that is the purpose of the cover, isn't it? To lure in the audience...
The storyline in "The Ghost Beyond" was so very flaccid and mundane, and nothing much of anything worthwhile or remotely scary actually happened throughout the course of the movie. I managed to stick with the movie to the very end, in the hopes that it would start to pick up pace and become more interesting and more scary. It just never happened.
It should be said that the cast, albeit very small, did good jobs with their acting performances. It was just a shame that they were tied down and severely restricted by not having a proper storyline and script to work with.
As for the special effects, well don't expect to be bedazzled and blown away by what you see here. Sure, there are special effects, and they work well enough for their purposes, but for a movie made in 2018, then it just wasn't particularly spectacular.
All in all, not much to be had in "The Ghost Beyond" if you are a seasoned horror fan. I am sure that this movie will serve well for newcomers to the horror genre. Other than that, then there is very little to be had here...

This cheap feeling awkwardly directed horror is generic and not even scary or stylish.
A couple with a young boy move into a big house that is cheaper cause it has a past. Sound familiar?
Soon Husband starts obsession with his writing sticking by his typewriter and gets all unkempt and unloving to his kid. Sound familiar?
Trevor Donovan tries to do a Jack Nicholson here.
Big mistake copying famous horror movies and combining them.
So boring.

Well - where to start.
Right from the opening scene with the AWFUL child actor I wondered what I was in for, but gave it a chance when the awful child disappeared.
But really it didn't get any better. The reason this movie crashes so badly isn't the acting or story - it is the AWFUL production.
The director/producers/crew have done NOTHING to create ANY atmosphere in this movie at all. It consists of standard shots and lighting more akin to some daytime TV film/soap opera, with the occasional (and totally out of place) soft focus 'effect' screen on a couple of close ups.
Really - I just don't know where the heads were of the production crew.
100% one to miss.
