It is well filmed, edited and produced into a fine short documentary. Phil's journey though the perils of on-line dating, mastering technology is funny, scary and very thought-provoking. He meets up with Devillia a glamorous, elegant widow and the film covers going out to lunch and a dancing lesson. A lovely heart-warming film that showcases the talents of a number of up-coming film makers. A deserved winner. Shot on location in Perth, Deighties covers a subject that is rarely covered, how to cope with the loss of a loved one after many years together and the rebuilding of a life. After so many years of shared life, to find oneself alone is a daunting prospect, how do you go about starting a relationship when approaching 90? Navigating computer dating, getting up the courage to make the first phone call is not easy, and the way it is covered by Mason and the rest of this young crew, shows that they have a great future in the industry. This gem is defined for many more awards.
