The lucas brothers are super deadpan, and I feel like you have to get pretty much every single one of their references to make this not a really slow watch. I think these two dudes have a bunch of good jokes in here but there's not that much continuity, is also kinda strange to see a two man standup group operate like this. I liked how organic it felt and I got a bunch of their references so I enjoyed it. Not the best special, but definitely not a 1/10 like people are saying, at least not to me.
I have never seen the Lucas Brothers' stand-up before but decided to see it because I really have enjoyed their cartoon on Animation Domination/FXX. However, after seeing it I must say that their act is DEFINITELY not for everyone. First, you have to be able to laugh at pot-head humor. After all, they are both self-avowed pot users and much of their humor centers around this. I am not offended by the notion of legalization of drugs but laughing at drugs isn't my thing. Second, you have to have a high tolerance for their slow, slow style...the style of two pot-heads! A few of the jokes worked well, many fell flat and the whole Richard Nixon angle just was unfunny, made no sense and went no where--particularly with the cartoon at the end. Overall, I neither hated nor particularly loved it. There are definitely better comedians out there...but sadly there are many much worse!
needs to rethink they career choice of stand-up comedy and stick with material that somebody else wrote for her. This stand-up is not funny or entertaining at all. There are some male comics I really enjoy that can pull off raunchy comedy with a lot of humor. lucas was just raunchy to be raunchy and not funny at all. After watching this I felt like Ace Ventura after he found out Einhorn was a man. Had to vomit, burn the clothes I was wearing, try to plunger the show out of my head, and just sat in the shower trying to wash this show away. So bad. So awful. Doesn't even deserve 1 star.
One of the jokes was they leaving America if Trumps win. they also just stole jokes from others such as Dave Chappelle. When people review movie as the crap it is gets mad and cries leaving netflix to change their rating system because is used to the everyone gets a trophy America. Also the whales are tired of people comparing to them.'
Very slow and just not funny. I am an avid stand-up fan and can appreciate when a comedian tries to intertwine politics into their act, David Cross does it well. The fact is they just do it miserably. Their political satire is just very surface and has no real purpose other than,,... hey weed is awesome, republicans suck. Also just really really not funny.
