Such type of films are fatal for all excuses

Director Mr. Rahul Bose has done a very fine job. I also appreciate his dedication to take risk as a producer of making this positive film but commercially doubtful possible. As a director he has taken care of even tiny things of subject. Like lead girl touching the rock first time, her unique bonding with it then her fear overpowers like any other common girl. While the lead girl was ill in the tent in final climbing flashcut of her being pushed inside water by elder cousin Priya, who is pushing her with unawareness it symbolically makes her strong and capable of bearing pain which are going to change Poorna life in future. Both cousin sister bonding is so well established that I wished that I just want to witness both's chemistry rather than watching the film. Priya mysterious smile in her last shot gives goose bump. Shot of bird flying off the tree in dawn while kids want to escape was cute and well placed. Writers Prashant Pandey and Shreya Dev Verma work is very good too. So many social issues are pointed out in subtle way without being lured into melo drama. Scene where kids play poor game while they were supposed to play power game in hostel, hits the issue in very balanced way. Most of the scenes are very realistic rather than conceiving some routine high dramatic treatment. IPS approach's towards bad food issue, teachers threat to strike or complain to chief minister is well handled. Starting half an hour film is very good but then is becomes slow. Emotions are well established but when it comes to rock climbing or mountaineering film fails to involve intensively. Yes must be budget constraints but this was film's premise. Due to this climax does not give that much needed euphoric feelings. Cinematography is also not up to the mark. But it is sure that film motivates and pushes undoubtedly to explore your hidden strength. Performance wise Aditi Inamdar as Poorna is first rate. You can't believe that she is not real Poorna but acting. As her elder sister Priya, actress S. Maria is just awesome. Rahul Bose as IPS Praveen Kumar is impressive. Heeba Shah as female government unsupportive officer is very good. Dr. Rayala Harishchandra as Priya's father is apt. Credit goes to casting director Mayank Dixit for selecting most of the good actors.

I watched it for Poorna and Rahul Bose and not disappointed

Dinesh Prakash has already given an accurate review of the movie and shared excellent points.

My first interaction with the movie was it's trailer of course and by knowing that a poor tribal girl reached such feet and from a place around a 100kms from where I live, excited me to watch the movie. Also the trailer was good. Then, I saw Rahul's interview on Jaby Koay's Channel. It was then, I came to know about Rahul and his inspiration behind the movie, his passion and his philosophies about work and life. He seems to be a genuine, humane, concerned and passionate man to me. I have become his fan immediately and added all his movies to my IMDb watch list.

And about the film, it was good for two reasons: because the story is great and inspirational, the story telling is simple and genuine. Possibly due to it's low budget, there were not much intensive action shots of the mountaineering. But, the movie is nevertheless, complete without all that. And I think, the action shots might only extend the run time by another 15-20 minute and then the real emotion may get diluted in the audience.

Coming to technical aspects from an audience point of view:

    Music: Very subtle and good

Cinematography: Every scene is exactly like what it's in the real world. Generally, the places we see outside in the real world, when seen in movies, we find some change in it and are not really convincing. But in this movie, I don't know why, each scene is exactly the way it appears in the real world.

Screenplay: No experiments done. Basic and decent story telling.

Overall, I think the film might not be so great speaking artistically or technically. But, it has got an accurate depiction of the real world and that's very interesting and convincing to an audience like me.

I wish Rahul Bose to keep making such good films. And Poorna and Anand Kumar to keep going and to have bright future.

Great movie . Great director in making, Great Cinemato, Great music

I had very low expectation from the movie as I had not heard great things about this movie in media, and now I am writing this after the first few scenes of the music. Very few directors know the art of blending music , cinematography and story together as I see in this film. After finishing all the movies of Sergio Leone and Satyajit Ray, I was ad that I will never be seeing such movies again. I see a hope now after this movie. I am not talking about the story plot which everyone can see is good , but more about the art. To Rahul Bose - You have a great team , Its a long and painful journey for you ahead, you will get awfully lonely if you continue to make such films in Bollywood. But I would suggest you to stick to your guns, and we will see another Sholay , or Apu Trilogy or Dollar trilogy coming from you.

    Inspirational and satire film

Narrates real experiences of a poor girl. The girl is rising from struggles in her life. The direction work of Rahul Bose is appreciative also acted very well. Film portraits racism against girls. Film also says about child marriage and consequences. Friendship, family, and public responsibilities all are highlighted in the movie very well.

    Poorna

Poorna the movie is based on the true story of # Poorna Malavath of Pakala village from Nizamabad district of Telangana. She is the youngest mountaineer to have summited Mount Everest at 13 years and 11 months accompanied by Sandhana Palli Anand Kumar of Khammam. It is typically a story of a poor village girl, who dreams and aspires in a way normal children do but is largely burdened by her penury life circumstances. Poorna played by #Aditi Inamdar in her debut film, has portrayed the character with an air of innocence that touches your heart. The portrayal of a Herculean task that this tiny and timid girl sets for herself and accomplishes, against the innumerable odds is no mean feat! For a beginner, she has nailed it! Poorna's cousin Priya, played by #S.Mariya, who is supposed to be her friend, emotional anchor and motivator in the film, justifies the role. #Rahul Bose in his production and directional capacity coupled with his character in the movie of Dr.R S Praveen kumar who is Poorna's mentor and facilitator has done a remarkable job! Bose has succeeded in driving the audience to take cognizance of the stark realities of how the free education organizations run in the country. The movie also points to a solution to deal with this by the way of empathetic and responsible rulers taking over their betterment! Bose has handled the topic of children and their secret aspirations with intensity, proving that each child is unique in their own way. Based on their individual passion and skill, and if motivated and handled properly, these Children can be both sculptors and "Masters'' of their own destiny. The script (but for the exception of the inclusion of Telugu sentences at unexpected time and places), is also well supported by characters played by Dhritiman Chatterji, Heeba Shah and Gyanendra Tripathi. All in all, it's a simple and straightforward story which is surely worth a view for all aspirants who wish to scale & summit mountains that are tall, snow capped and almost every time in 'wuthering heights'. For the rest of us, an emotionally touching and lovely viewing experience. Image may contain: one or more people, text and nature
