    Terrible Anthology

"Galaxy of Horrors" is a terrible anthology of eight sci-fi / horrors shorts.

The lead story of a man trapped in a malfunctioning cryogenic pod is absolutely boring.

The segments "Eden", "Flesh Computer" "Pathos" and "Eveless" are gruesome and unbearable.

The segments "Entity" and "Kingz" are watchable, but not good.

The segment "Iris" is reasonable and can be watched.

Only "They Will All Die in Space" is the only one worthwhile watching.

The IMDb User Rating (4.9) is overrated. My vote is two.

Very good, 8 stories for the price of 1.

Can't believe this title only gets a 4.7. It's actually very good.

It's well done and very entertaining. Fighting scenes in the last chapter is spectacular for those who like some cool Martial Arts action!

Reminds me of Tales from the Crypt, or even better Twilight Zone (the movie) but with an Outer Space theme. So if you're a SF lover, you shouldn't miss this one!

Sure, things can always be better: one reviewer criticised too much in my opinion. He was right, but among all Hollywood crap that's being produced nowadays, Galaxy of Horrors really does stand out, I think it's one of those little gems that any SF lover must have seen. At least give it a try and judge for yourself!

Definitely worth watching!!! I want more!!!

Basically just another horror anthology, but with a sci-fi twist...

I was drawn in by this 2017 movie's cover, as it was rather interesting, and I must admit that I opted to watch the movie based on the cover alone. I hadn't even bothered reading the synopsis or checking IMDb first. So I didn't know that I was in for a sci-fi horror anthology.

And "Galaxy of Horrors" is exactly that - like almost every other horror anthology out there. The eight segments and the narrative that ties them together were of various degrees of production value, entertainment value and such. Of course they were. It would be silly to say otherwise. Some of the segments were good and watchable, while others were just mediocre, bland or pointless. So this is definitely a bag of mixed goodies.

While "Galaxy of Horrors" was watchable, it was not an outstanding or memorable anthology. In fact, I doubt I will even remember it in about a week's time or so. There are far better and way more enjoyable - and memorable - horror anthologies out there, if you enjoy horror anthologies. Some of the stories were good, others were bland.

The acting in the anthology was also of a very varied degree. Some acting performances were good, some were dubious, some were bland, but I will not say that anyone was outright bad or poor.

Visually then "Galaxy of Horrors" was surprisingly good. There were a good display of effects, but of course, some segments fared better than others. The most outstanding here was the "Entity" segment.

Ultimately then "Galaxy of Horrors" was just another run-of-the-mill horror anthology, for better or worse. So you basically know what you are getting here before sitting down to watch "Galaxy of Horrors", if you opt to read the synopsis or check IMDb first.

My rating of the 2017 anthology "Galaxy of Horrors" lands on a less than mediocre four out of ten stars.

    Bits and pieces...

I was expecting this film to be awful...I'm not a fan of film anthologies, but this came recommended by a friend who knows his movies, so I thought, what the hell, let's do this! 8 little SciFi/Horror films (not just stories, but actual little films) presented in such a professional way, you forget it's all being done on a small Indie budget. Each film feels and looks like it could be a full length feature.

Although I didn't "get" one or two of the pieces, it is all so well done that it kept me highly entertained. Acting, direction, lightning, set design...it is all really good - none of it feels cheap or amateurish.

This won't win any awards, but it's fun. Watch it. I think you'll be surprised.

PS: Don't let the cheap and nasty cover art put you off!

    Sorry guys...

Black Mirror, The Outter Limits and The Twilight Zone were among the legendary Science Fiction anthology films of all time. Substance and telling stories about human nature from new perspectives.

This on the other hand comes on strong and you really get the vibe from those legendary films but then falls flat after a peak midway through the series of short sci-fi short films.

I can't say much more without trash talking and pointing out that since it is an anthology they could really have tried much harder to perfect the selection (there are others out there that would have made this a top notch compilation of shorts.
