Top Arab & Turkish Talent Agents Strike Partnership For Stars Including Tuba Büyüküstün & Kaan Urgancıoğlu

Exclusive: Cairo-based film company Mad Solutions has struck a deal with prominent Turkish agency People Talent Management to manage all commercial representation in the Arab World for several of its clients.

The partnership includes top Turkish stars such as Tuba Büyüküstün, Kaan Urgancıoğlu and Burcu Biricik, who will be represented in Arabic-speaking markets by Mad Celebrity.

The Mad Solutions subsidiary, which handles leading Arab world talents such as Egypt-Tunisian star Hend Sabry and Syrian actor Samer Ismail, is the Arab-world’s largest talent management and promotional agency.

Mad Solutions co-founders Alaa Karkouti and Maher Diab said the partnership marked a milestone for the company.

Spain’s Secuoya Studios Taps Former Sony Exec Brendan Fitzgerald as CEO

Spain’s fast-growing Secuoya Studios has tapped seasoned Sony Pictures Television International exec Brendan Fitzgerald for the newly-created position of CEO. His most recent position as Spti’s senior VP of international English-language co-productions makes him the perfect fit for the company’s lofty ambitions.

Fitzgerald’s appointment coincides with the third anniversary of Secuoya Studios and the world premiere of their most ambitious show to date, “Zorro,” which, after its Jan. 19 Prime Video premiere in the Americas, starts streaming Jan. 25 in Spain, Portugal and Andorra through Prime Video Spain.

Mediawan Rights, which handles the international distribution of “Zorro,” has sold broadcast rights to M6 Groupe of France, Mediaset Italy, Tvm Belgium and Rtl Hungary with more sales news to be announced in subsequent weeks.

Five years after the launch of sales company Madd Entertainment as a partnership between Turkish TV giants Medyapim (“Mother”) and Ay Yapim (“Endless Love”), Madd is at Mipcom not only as Turkey’s top content exporter but also as an innovative industry driver thanks to a raft of deals that take the country’s booming TV business in new directions.

The combined firepower of Medyapim that comprises several subsidiaries and partners including Mf Yapim, Madd, and Mednova and has a library of more than 10,000 hours of TV content spanning from dramas and sitcoms to feature films and game shows, and Ay Yapım which produces a slew of Turkey’s most beloved dramas, accounts for over 400 hours of original programming per year.

Brazil’s Globo Sells First International Remake Rights of ‘Brazil Avenue’ to Turkey’s Ay Yapım (Exclusive)

Brazilian media giant Globo has sold the first international adaptation rights to its biggest telenovela hit in recent years, “Brazil Avenue” (“Avenida Brasil”) to Ay Yapım, one of the most prominent daily series producers of Turkey.

Madd Entertainment, a joint venture of Medyapim (“Mother”) and Ay Yapim (“Endless Love”), will distribute the adaptation worldwide.

The unprecedented agreement allows for Ay Yapım to make some changes as long as it adheres to the telenovela’s main storylines. Globo Studios will be on hand as a consultant.

The International Emmy-nominated soap has already been sold to more than 140 territories so a Turkish adaptation would further expand its reach.

Secuoya Studios Unveils More Than 20 New Projects in Series, Film and Unscripted

In a glittering event at Madrid’s Florida Park, Spain’s Secuoya Studios brought out its big guns, led by its president James Costos and Secuoya Content Group CEO Raúl Berdonés, to tout the fast-growing company’s slate, led by its 10-episode series “Zorro,” its most ambitious production.

The series pilot will be unveiled at Mipcom in a special screening on Oct. 15, noted Berdonés, who added that the two-year-old company has made a strong commitment to sustainable production.

“Zorro,” starring Miguel Bernardeau and Renata Notni, will be exclusively available on Prime Video in Latin America, the U.S., Spain, Andorra, and Portugal in the first half of 2024, followed by its broadcast on Spain’s Tve. Mediawan handles international distribution.
