The concept of the Axcellerator device and how it focuses intent is pretty interesting. Most of the acting was pretty decent (and the acting that was subpar really didn't subtract anything as it seemed appropriate for this kind of movie). The special effects were pretty darn bad, but didn't really take away from the story. Some of the locations that ended up as greenscreen backgrounds boggle the mind. They couldn't actually get the two leads to do a scene in front of a real supermarket?
Anyway, as far as cheaply executed action movies go, this was pretty enjoyable.

I'm giving this movie a few extra stars as I read some of the other low reviews and they are simply inaccurate. It's about teleportation, not time travel kids. The young leads do a really great job, Sam Jones hilariously chews up the scenery, and John James is a gleefully evil bad guy. It's a movie having fun with an old genre and I throughly enjoyed it. Maybe some of the younger viewers want darkness and irony but I don't. Many of the effects are pretty ropey but that never stopped me from enjoying the "Star Trek" or "Dr. Who" series.
You possibly never saw the Bob Hope/Bing Crosby films where, when they had painted themselves into a corner, they would shout "Special Effects!" And be magically transported to the next scene. Here, it's seemingly done with a torch/flashlight.
It's a pretty pathetic effort with some pretty bad acting. I could sympathise with the actors having to put up with such bad, cheap scenes.
Pass on this one and try something else.
I didnt know they made films of this genre anymore, so if youre a time travel nerd, you might like it, i didnt
its a actioncomedy of low quality acting, basic filmography, a done for a nickel score, boiling and headless action, terrible staging and stand in front of a green wall way of exterior filming. if this where made in 1981, i woudve raised an eyebrow or two, but not today. the only thing raising the score are some neat driving action with alot of crashing and tyre squeeling
the grumpy old man are not impressed, its a no recommend

At first as I watched I thought to myself... man this is cheesy. But after 30 minutes I realized that this is what they were going for. Low budget 80's or 90's theme sci-fi that, although the acting and visuals were low budget, the actual story was pretty cool.
