    Brutal Masterpiece!

Back roads is one of the most brutal films ever made most critics say. It was almost banned in America! It is banned in Germany, France, and several other European nations. NATO has banned it outright. The actors all needed therapy after filming intense scenes. One was even institutionalized for 10 days. Over 10,000 barrels of blood was used to film this. Most people faint while watching this. I had a friend vomit three separate times on me while watching the opening sequence. I still enjoyed the movie despite the raw brutality of it all. I recommend any true horror fan should watch this. Just beware!!

    Not for the Easily Offended

They should have took into consideration the POC that would watch this film. I'm not too bothered by the guy repeatedly saying the "n" word and berating the black man. However, not many people would take that scene lightly. This movie is disgusting! Especially the porno scenes. I did not watch the movie to the end because of the horrible acting. They killed a child and thought it was ok to dump it on the side of the road. Then the driver shows no remorse and was more worried about the drugs he possessed? Really? This movie should have made it to the theatres at all. There are too many scenes that are just not okay!

    The $20,000 X RATED BELOW B MOVIE!

Most would watch Back Road is disgust and see only the bad of the film. Upon research and meeting of several cast and crew. This film is a degenerate masterpiece! I say that because there was so much time and effort put into the film!

Back Road is a love letter to the entire horror genre, it was made for literally nothing. $20,000 budget is nothing compared to other films.

The acting is mind blowing, I've seen big studio project have poor acting. The main five are beyond believable! Fox plays such a lovable asshole. Madeline has scream Queen written all over her. Jason is adorable and Amanda I wish was given more than she had. Charlie is such an intimating monster, I love it!

The sfx are crazy as well, not some blood but actually some disturbing images that will make the hardest gore fan smile. This film is X Rated for a reason and that because the crew wanted to make it the way they wanted and refused to cut it. I respect the heck out of that.

They made this movie to sell and when they were told to cut it they stood their ground and kept going until somebody released it the way they wanted.

This is a true indie horror story and more people need to see what they can do with a little bit more. It's a 10/10 for me. Great story, great shots, great people.

Non-sensical, unoriginal Story. Bad Acting. Worse Script.

A bunch of friends go on a road trip, deciding to let the roid-raging racist homophobic woman-beating meathead drive them, while he drinks beer, talks on his phone and, it turns out, doesn't even have a license.

Eventually this most unlikeable of characters hits and kills a child and, of course, they decide to dump the body and try to pretend nothing happened. They're stopped by a dope-smoking small town sheriff, who checks nothing but asks if they're making a porno...as any small-town sheriff would.

A man, the father, somehow knows exactly who did it and where they are, despite them driving for miles and miles in rural America; and inevitably goes on a gore-inducing revenge rampage.

A man, somehow, manages to survive being shot twice without any physical effects.

There are many other nonsensical happenings, plot holes bigger than the grand canyon and hilariously bad dialogue.

The film starts off with a threesome in which one of two unsatisfied girls decides to gorily bite off the man's genitals. Why? Who knows!? Just to tick off the horror nudity box I guess as it has nothing to do with the story that follows, that's for sure.

There's some kind of undercurrent about "country bumpkins" not liking these "city folk" invaders, but it's just a generic horror trope and just increases the mixed up storyline. There's no satisfactory resolution to the 'story', it's just a poor attempt at trying to replicate and blend I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Wrong Turn.

There were a few points where the script was so bad that it made me laugh out loud, which is probably not the reaction the filmmakers were going for.

I can suspend my disbelief for most films; they're rarely supposed to be 100% believable, especially horrors and low-budget horrors, but this takes the cake.

There's nothing new, interesting or actually enjoyable even for the most ardent horror fan. Crazily there's a sequel in production, but then it can't be any worse than the first attempt...probably.
