A small film about a paralyzed girl called Elena : Paula del Río and a deadly battle for her survival . As a rabid and menacing dog goes bersek and attacks an unfortunate handicapped teenager who is trapped into a summer house , resulting in unexpected consequences . Along the way Elena is regularly haunted by the ghost of her sister who died by car accident and she feels real guilty about it .
Frighteningly realistic film made in shoestring budget and with an unknown and newcomer cast , exception for Miguel Angel Jenner who has played a few fims and being father of famous actress Michelle Jenner and brief appearance by secondary actor Jordi Aguilar . It is a pleasing illustration of a crippled , wheelchair girl , shot in filmic simplicity, concerning a distressed girl and a vicious dog . Director follows and paces rightly the main plot , making considerable visuals for its low budget and providing a surprising narrative dealing with the struggle between dog and teen . As the main actress screams and cries her way through the movie with commendable little shame . The flick takes parts of other films as "Cujo" 1983 by Lewis Teague about actress Dee Wallace Stone besieged by a Saint Bernardo dod in a car and "Silver Bullet" 1985 by Daniel Attias in which paraplegic boy Corey Ham is pursued by a werewolf and at whatever means he attempts to vanquish him . As well as Spanish films in which disgraced people find disturbed and closed in lousy conditions as "Zulo" 2005 by Martin Ferrera and "Buried" 2010 by Rodrigo Cortes .
Special mention for the moving and suspenseful musical score by Arnau Bataller, this musician has a considerable career composing national and international movies as A Perfect Day , The Vault, The Chain, Lucas, Salvation, Mediterraneo, among others. As well as adequate cinematography by cameraman Zumbach. The picture was well made by Jose Luis Montesinos in his only feature , though he has written/directed some Shorts , such as : Fest , Final , Físico, Matagatos , Corredor , Intentions , Historia de Siempre and in pre-production Lesser Evil . Cordes (2019) rating: 6/10. Acceptable and passable .

My biggest gripe is... that's supposed to be a support dog?! The dog has been trained in ways most aren't, to protect whomever it's supposed to protect and help. It's kind of annoying to see.
The claustrophobic feel is great, it's got some decent tension as well that builds nicely. The story obviously reminds me of Cujo but it is what it is, like most movies today, there's no originality. Still worth a watch though.

A bit formulaic survival horror that entertains the premise of a tetraplegic teen trapped inside an isolated house under a great danger, that tries to make the most of a simplistic and hardly credible plot that would've worked better as a short film, where its suspense and its atmosphere would've been more convincing and disturbing, without the unnecessary tricks that its director has to resort to in order to lengthen the plot. It has a lot of reminiscences from many movies like Cujo (1983) or Monkey Shines (1988), for instance.
The concept of the plot is a smart one, but unfortunately, nearly everything in the movie hinges on the fact that the protagonist is stupid. The struggles the main character must endure are mostly born from ill-conceived or rushed plans and a disability which swings wildly from moment to moment. In one scene she can barely lift her arm and in another she has a much broader range of motion which would have instantly trivialized or outright solved the problem before it. Beyond these obvious problems, the main character isn't particularly likeable. Her bad choices (including her barely explored and later, self-excused, backstory) are grating after about the third or fourth obvious plot-forwarding screw up. On top of all of this, without getting into spoiler territory, much of the setting just doesn't make sense. Why is the radio battery-powered when the house clearly has electricity? The doors are semi-handicap-accessible and stairs entirely rebuilt, but no effort was made for water access? Overall, this is worth a one-time watch if you're anxious for some middling horror, but don't expect any real thrills or frills from this film.
I saw this with my seven year old nephew n even for his taste the movie is a bit slow at times but i found it to be a decent survival drama with sufficient tension.
Cujo, Monkey Shines n Silver Bullet will crop up in most reviews but fellas shud cut some slack while viewing such low budget movies.
From the beginning audiences will not like the lead girl but the trauma she goes thru is sufficient.
Surprisingly the house has a cassette player, no smartphone is shown, no emergency hands free phone around the neck and showing a heart patient lift a heavy bag rather than have trolleys, all these r too much.
But the worst was the far fetched scene where the sleeping tabs r puked out.
