looking for something quirky and dark... this could be it

A really bleak dark comedy about how we handle our finances, unfaithfulness, and marriage. Slightly too long for a comedy but I enjoyed the filmmaker's love of language and fresh take on the material.

    Hot garbage.

Christ I wish I could give this turd a -10 star.

    I can't even...

I'll say it like this, "The Room" has oscar quality acting when compared to this abomination. I "spent" most of this abortion cringing in its awfulness. Ewe Boll would call this thing a disgrace to the art of movie making.

Avoid watching this thing, it's sheer awfulness could give you cancer.

    Well-made Indie Film

Imaginatively shot and edited, Spent is a comedy that ultimately warms the heart. Special kudos to the film's production design.

Quirky and different. A good combination.

So here's the thing about SPENT, either you "get it" or you don't. I'll explain. Remember those friends (or perhaps it was you) who didn'tunderstand what everyone was laughing about with SEINFELD, NAPOLEON DYNAMITE or more recently, perhaps PORTLANDIA? The acting is done in a particular way that goes for a certain type of humor, not a Meryl Streep performance of epic proportions.

People who give this one star, couldn't have seen the sam movie. I thought the cinematography alone was great and definitely a part of my scoring card when it comes to films.

Before posting my review, I wanted to check out what others had to say. There are many who "got it", like I did. I saw one reviewer mention the restaurant scene and how obvious it was that the "rat" wasn't real. I thought to myself "wait, wasn't that the gag?" becuase I actually laughed as it worked its way up the aisle. In the end, I enjoyed this film. It was different and quirky. A good combination.

Must see. Old school feel that was hilarious

This movie was definitely different. I loved how they had that 60's to 70's look to it. I thought it had a little bit of the 3 stooges vibe to it. Very quirky with a vintage feel. The acting was very good. Cinematography was good. They did a phenomenal job with probably a small indie budget. Job well done.
